At the sandlot
"Hey y/n?" Benny asked me.
"Hm?"
"I haven't been truly honest lately," he told me. What does he mean?
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"I left out something yesterday, when I was telling you about my sister."
"Benny......you can tell me anything," I told him.
"Ok. So....," he started to say.
He tells me what's happening and I can tell he's sad so I hug him.
"Its okay Benny, I'm genuinely so sorry for you," I told him.
"I'm trying my best to stay calm, but what if my sister.......," he started to say but I instantly knew what he was trynna say.
"No Benny, don't think like that. Shes going to be alright," I said.
"Your right."
We walked home together
"Alright, bye Benny. Tell your sister I said I hope she feels better," I told him.
"I will! Bye y/n. I love you," he said.
"I love you too Benny," I said while giving him a kiss on his cheek.
"Hello? Danny, Anna? Are you guys home?" I ask. No answer. So I went into the back yard and saw that Danny and Anna's friends are here so they must be having a barbecue or something. "Oh hey, Rey. Hey Heather," I said.
"Hey y/n!" Rey and Heather said. Rey and Heather are my brothers and Anna's best friends since middle school. Rey and Heather are boyfriend and girlfriend.
I needed someone to talk to about Benny's situation, and me and Anna are they closest so I decided to talk to her.
"Hey Anna? Can I talk to you about something?" I ask her.
"Yeah sure, let's go inside," she says while walking inside. I nodded then walked inside behind her.
"So basically there is a lot going on with Benny and he's having a hard time at his house," I said.
"What's going on?" Anna asks. I tell her everything and she just nods in understanding.
".....so I don't know what I should do to comfort him," I said.
"Just try to be there for him at all times and always offer him reassurance," she said. I just nodded. "Got it, kiddo?"
"Mhm!"
"Alright ima go back out, talk to me if anything happens," Anna says while walking back outside.
She always give the best advice.
