I have seen authors here on Wattpad with hit series, who write in the title about sequel to this book or series of this book.
Initially it helps, finding the sequel to the said work.
But looking from a stand point of what may come off as cleanliness + professionalism + perfection, it makes me want to go into the DM of the author and give them a lecture about it but, not to be praising myself, I control it.
Here's what you can do,
Give your duology, trilogy or series of a name.
Random Example: The Mortal Instruments.
And/or keep their names similar to each other.
Random Example:
1. City of Bones.
2. City of Ashes.
3. City of Glass.
4. City of Fallen Angels
5. City of Lost Souls.
6. City of Heavenly Fire.
The names I gave of books are in chronology and their series name is mentioned above.
And I am sure you can tell that they are a series by just looking at the titles of the said books.
Another thing you can do is, write book one, book two in same fonts on the covers of the books. It will help readers to identify whether it's a series or not.
And lastly, in the description.
This one is kinda in the middle for me but if it helps readers and doesn't look all that imperfect then okay.
You can write at the very end of the description of your book about which series said book belongs to and what part it is.
