Ame's dead
"How the fuck do you expect us just to believe a random chick telling us our friend is dead!?" Saya yelled at the girl named Dawn.
"I'm so sorry. I know it's hard news to receive. But she told me to bring this to you all" She went for her backpack she had dropped when she arrived.
We got a message from Cedric, telling us to get to his place as soon as possible. So we did. All of us, Saya, Billie, Lex, Petra and me, even miss De Luca had been requested to be there, I hoped Ame would surprise us, she'd be back, only a few scratches from her fight and she's be safe again, back in my arms. But we waited at Cedric's place, and the door opened to a foreign face.
Cedric seemed to recognize her and told us we could trust her.
When she broke the news to us she broke as well, crying and rambling on about what happened. Everyone was in shock, was this true, was this some kind of sick prank?
But from the look on her face, and the look on Cedric's I don't think she's lying. I swallowed back the brick forming in my throat, keeping myself from crying.
"I don't think she's lying" I stated quietly. It had been silent for a while.
"I'm really sorry. But she told me to thank you for making her life the best she could've hoped for. And to tell you that she loved you so much. She asked me to deliver this letter to you guys." She showed us an envelope and gave it to Cedric, who was sitting next to me, already crying, Kane sat on the other side of him, disbelief in his eyes. He had to wrap his head around everything, not only the loss of a friend but the horrors she and her brother had gone through before coming here, the life she lived, and the school we all went to, he was trying to be there for his boyfriend while also trying to make sense of it all.
Cedric looked around at us, and back to the envelope with a few bloody fingerprints, Ame's blood.
I nodded at him and he slowly opened the envelope, with shaky hands. He pulled out the handwritten paper and started reading out loud, but he couldn't get far before breaking down, he handed me the letter. "C-could you" he didn't have to finish for me to understand what he meant. He wanted me to read the letter, out loud. Ame's last message to us.
I cleared my throat and started...
Hi everyone,
If you are reading this, I'm probably right there with you, probably a little embarrassed that you are going to read all about my feelings. But if I'm not there, that means I didn't make it back to you guys.
I want to start off by telling you that I've been enjoying my time here, it's been really emotional, and a bit weird, but it's soothing, it's hard to describe. I'm home, but it doesn't feel like home. This trip has made me realise that you guys are my home.
You are my people, you bring me happiness, you have been with me through so much, and I cannot wait to see you all again. But this letter is meant as my last goodbye, for if I don't make it.
I want to thank you all so much for being my friend. my family.
Lex,
I really love you, mate, I love you more than you'll ever know. You always brought me back home, my comrade, my best friend. I know I've not always expressed my love to you, and we might've clashed from time to time, but I'm so proud to be your friend. You've never failed at making me laugh, even in the darkest times. And I'll miss doing our tiny acting skits on the rooftop. Lex, I'm so proud of you, and please never stop being you. Remember to be proud of yourself as well, you are amazing.
