Hayden's POV

A few hours from now until I get my surgery. Isaac and El are already. Isaac is clutching my side while he talks about school and how he builds a lego by himself. I was cradling El in my arms who is peacefully sleeping.

"Ate, are you even listening?" Isaac asked with a tone.

"Yes, I am listening so go on"

"Okay if you are listening, what lego did I build?"

"You built the one you got from Christmas"

"Which is?"

"The Pit Droid"

"Okay... I want to build it with you but you were here in L.A."

"It's okay, bud. You built it correctly right?"

"Yes, I did. Dad helped me read the instructions"

"That means you are a big boy now. And also well done, Tia said you have helped take care of your sister"

"El is kinda annoying sometimes. She won't stop crying at night"

"That's because she's a baby. You know-"

I was cut off when someone entered the door.

"Ate, it's Scarlett!" Isaac

Isaac ran into Scarlett's arms and hug her like there was no tomorrow.

"Hey, Isaac! How are you doing?"

"I'm great! I talked about the lego I built by myself to Ate"

"That's wonderful!"

"Thanks! Can you keep Ate company while I get some food?"

"Absolutely! Your mom should be right outside, talking to the doctor"

Once Isaac was out of sight, Scarlett took my hand and carefully caressed it with her thumbs.

"How are you feeling?"

"Nervous because there is a small chance that I might die but I'm relieved because Tia allowed me to see Isaac and El before the surgery. I'm also pretty hungry because I haven't eaten"

"She looks so peaceful when she's with you," Scarlett said while rubbing the tiny human's back who's now asleep on my chest.

"Really?" I said with a beam of delight.

"She is. El doesn't want to be carried these past few days. She's pretty grumpy. She would cry so freaking loud if she was carried by someone who is not her parents"

"Wow. She's trying to copy me" I said with a playfully scoff.

My girl let a chuckle.

"First, my face. I have to be honest as time goes by I see it now. She does look like me. Now she's grumpy"

"You are not grumpy though!" Scarlett exclaimed.

"I was and still am! Sometimes... I was a grumpy baby as well, that's what everybody is saying. So El is probably my doppelganger."

She let out a huge pit of laughs.

"Oh God, I hope not."

"Why not?"

"Because that means she has to be stubborn as well when she grows up"

"She's a Dela Velle, trust me she will be"
