Friday morning, I wake up refreshed and already have Sailor on my mind. I was pleasantly surprised to see that when I gave her space, she reached out to me. I think it is a good sign and I am really jazzed for our date tonight. I am going to take her to a new place on Alberta Street for dinner, that way we can walk up the street later and sit around the outside fire pit a few doors down. It will just be cool enough to sit outside and enjoy the heat of a fire.
After I work out, I decide to use my morning energy to work on my blog. I schedule another few timed blog deliveries for while I'm gone. I've almost got enough stored to make a daily post for the two weeks I'm scheduled to be in Nepal. After I store and schedule two more, I make some coffee and breakfast and take a call from my mom. She is starting to get more and more worried as my departure nears and I think I'll swing by today to spend some time with her. Dad's home early this weekend so it will be nice to catch up with him.
Driving up to the gated entrance at my folk's house I punch in the code and drive to the front. I don't park in the garage as I will not be there long enough to bother. Connie, Mom's housekeeper, greets me at the front door with a big smile and a hug.
"How are you doing Connie?"
"You know just keeping busy. How are you Tahoe?"
"Doing pretty great actually, I have a girl I'm sweet on. Maybe you'll get to meet her sometime soon."
"That is wonderful, I'm happy for you. What's her name?"
"Sailor Cook, she is an Accountant who works in the Standard building downtown."
"Wow got yourself a smart girl. I'm glad for you Tahoe. Your folks are sitting in the solarium having lunch and waiting for you."
"Thanks Connie, see you later."
My parents' house is insanely too big for two people but that is just how it's done when you are my father. My dad comes from a very old money family both in the states and England. Old country, old money. He is about as stodgy as they come, but still not that bad of a guy. I think years and years of being married to my mom has worn off on him. She even convinced him to vote for Bernie last time which was a miracle because he is the 1%.
As I walk towards the solarium, I see my mom has made changes again, she loves to decorate and try new things. She has been on a kick lately of new artists and bright colors. The solarium is wall to wall windows. Since it is summer there are flowering gardens all around the outside of the glass. Inside the room is full of dozens of perfectly manicured house plants of different varieties. Mom and Dad are sitting at what they call the breakfast nook eating. I say hello giving my mom a kiss on the cheek and messing with my dad's hair because it annoys him.
"Good morning."
"Hey sweetheart. How was your week?"
"Pretty great actually, remember Sailor from the golf tournament?"
"Yes, she was a sweet girl."
"We've been on a few dates and think she is finally warming up to me."
"What's this I hear; you finally found a girl that makes you work for her attention?"
