Hungry
Sometimes I wonder why I stay
When I am the only one sowing
I wonder why I let them leave
After they've done the reaping
I wonder why I let them take every fruit from my tree
I wonder why I let them eat every small part of me
And I wonder why I'm hungry because I've yet to feed
And I wonder why I ask someone unwilling to heed
And I wonder why I'm broken when they've taken my ribs
And I ponder if I stay longer, maybe they'll give me my limbs
And so that's when I answer the question I ask in my dream
Why do I stay when I am already so empty?
Just in case they take some of my fruit
And give some to me.
