Eddie Munson One Shots

Tongue Tied Pt. 2

It's been a month since you started tutoring Eddie, and it's been nothing short of productive and magical. Even though you haven't spoken a word, it seemed like Eddie did that for you. As he's gotten more comfortable, he's started to fill your silences with stories, questions and things that make you smile. Even when talking was too much he'd write paragraphs and slide them over to you. It would usually be when you were trying to get him to answer a question, he frustrated you, but also he never failed to make you feel deeply for him.

He never realized it, but you kept all the notes you ever passed back and forth with him. They stayed in a small folder in the bottom of your bag. His handwriting was messy, barely legible even, but every time you read them, you got butterflies all over again.

You're standing at your locker and gathering your books, switching them out of your bag. It seemed to be an average day for you. You go through classes, and once the bell rings you go to the library, it's gotten to the point where you and Eddie have a specific table you always sit at. He even brings snacks and little trinkets to make the space comfortable for the both of you. When suddenly your locker slams shut with force, causing you to drop everything.

"Oops, sorry, didn't see ya there." A familiar voice hisses at you.

Jason.

Jason was a jock type who always had the hots for you. But having a girlfriend and your disinterest in him really put a damper on it. When he realized you weren't going to give in to his advances, he pretty much swore to make your life miserable. "Although, can anyone really tell you're there? You never talk, it's like you're invisible." He rambles as you kneel down to pick up your things. You ignore his incessant insults, trying to scurry away.

You reach for your notebooks and bag when it's kicked from your grasp. Jason laughs as he stares at your hunched silhouette, seemingly proud of the way he can make you feel small and insignificant. You feel frustrated tears start to swell as you desperately try to keep them at bay. The bell rings, meaning you'll be late to class. "Talk to you later, y/l/n, oh wait.." He says with an evil, amused smile. Walking over your things as he wipes his filthy shoes on your notes and books, laughing to himself as he strolls away.

The blood in your body was starting to boil, you didn't even know what to do with yourself. You scrambled around, scooping up your things when you see another figure start to help pick up your things. Your eyes meet Robin's, and she's smiling as she helps. "What happened here, tongue tied?" She asked, you start to look around for a pen and paper, but she's already covered it. You take the materials from her and scribble.

"Jason."

She scoffed before you even finished writing his name. "That prick? Jesus.. You know he gives everyone shit, right? Especially Eddie.." Her voice trails off, "How's that going by the way? The tutoring stuff?" You shrugged, trying to play off the way your face lights up when his name is even mentioned. As this month has gone by, you've become closer with Robin as well as Eddie. They gush about you to one another when they hang out, Eddie told her a few weeks ago that he thought you were beautiful and was pretty interested in you outside of tutoring, but she needed to keep the secret.

"Good, I think he might actually pass."

You hand it to her, she reads it with a smile, her secret aching to break free, but she couldn't. "Well, good. I'll see you in class, okay?" She gleams as she hands you the last of your things. You nod, faking a smile to not worry her. Inside however, you felt horrible. You never wanted what people do to you get to you, but you couldn't help it. She waved you goodbye as she rushed to her class, leaving you in the empty hall. You zipped up your bag, making your way to your own class that you were now terribly late to.
