A smile.
Something so small and yet so big.
Most people assume you're happy just because of it.
They don't look further.
They don't care.
"A smile is the prettiest accessory a girl can wear".
Is it though? Is it really?
Sure a smile looks good on anyone.
Until you know what's really behind it.
You can have to brightest smile,
yet it could be the fakest of them all.
A smile is like the sun shining so bright you can't see the clouds.
But just because you can't see them, doesn't mean they're not there.
When I was a little kid people would admire me for my smile.
What happened to it, where did it go?
The kid grew up,
her smile faded away.
The world suddenly seemed a lot less bright,
still she always held on to that little smile of hers.
The older she gets, the heavier it is.
So much can be hidden behind a smile.
It's like a mask with an adjustable strap.
You can keep adjusting it
There's no limit until there is.
All the weight from her pain hidden behind a smile
making it harder to move.
It's so much easier to just be "fine" all the time.
Not having to explain what you don't know.
A smile.
Something so small and yet so big.
