I haven't talked to Austin in 2 weeks.

I really miss him.

"Like really miss him." I was telling Kylie.

We were at her house eating ice cream.

"Then talk to him."

"I screwed that up."

"Not completely. There's a chance he's missing you just as much as you miss him. Probably more and you will never know it unless you talk to him."

I didn't say anything else. She's probably right.

I was scrolling through instagram and saw that Austin had posted a picture that said missing my best friend.

Yeah I followed him again the day after I unfollowed him.

I decided to DM him on instagram.

I watched the movie with Kylie and waited for him to text back

Me, Kylie and Jordyn went to the mall to meet up with Austin, Becky and Alex.

We were in the food court when we saw them walking up.

"Austin and that girl aren't dating are they?" Jordyn asked.

"They're friends." Kylie said for me.

"They're kind of close." Jordyn said standing up with the rest of us.

I waved to Alex and gave Becky a hug.

Then there was Austin.

We stood there a while just looking at each other.

Everybody else started walking so now it was just me and Austin.

I gave him a hug and he squeezed me tighter.

"I miss you." I told him

"I know. I miss you too."

"Come on." I grabbed his hand and we started walking pretty slowly but just enough so that we could still catch up to the others.

Nothing made me happier than just being next to Austin. I've been missing something and this is all I needed.

We saw them go into footlocker and we followed.

When we were in there I noticed Becky's face change when she saw us holding hands.

I thought it was weird at first but I just ignored it.

"Hey come on" Austin pulled me out of foot locker and now it was just us two.

it was quiet for a while before Austin spoke up.

"So what's really going on in your mind Pia?"

"What do you mean?"

"I want to why you haven't talked to me in 16 days."

I didn't say anything. Instead I stayed quiet.

Austin pulled me aside and stood in front of me, "Is it because of your parents? Your dad?"

"Look Austin, I just don't like betraying my parents."

"But you're not."

"Then why does it feel like it?"

"Pia please don't give up not yet."

Then the one thing I never wanted to do in font of Austin happened. My eyes got watery and I couldn't see. I didn't want to blink because then the tears would start to fall but before they could Austin pulled me into.

I wanted to stay like this, in his arms, forever and I never wanted him to let go but he did.

He wiped the tears from my face and kissed me on my forehead. He hugged me again and I already feel so much better than before.

"There you guys are." Becky said, she was practically running to where Austin and I was with Kylie, Jordyn and Alex right behind her.

"Hey Austin look what I got" Becky showed him a new pair of shoes she bought.

"Come on let me show you something. I saw a sweatshirt you might like." Becky grabbed his hand and started to pull him away.

"Pia, what happened?" Kylie whispered.

before I got a chance to respond Austin had put his arm around me and I noticed he wasn't holding her hand anymore and she was just awkwardly walking by Alex.
