We left Olive Garden and headed straight to the venue for prom

We were all in the limo rapping along to super bass by Nicki Minaj

Why we were listening to such old songs today I will never know

When the chorus came Kylie, Sydney and I would start singing as loud as we can

"Excuse me you're a hell of a guy you know I really got a thing for American guys" Kylie rapped to Jared and he finished the line for her

We were like this the whole rest of the ride

We got there about 20-30 minutes after it started.

As soon as we walked through the archway everyone came up to Austin saying their hellos and he managed to keep holding my hand and kept me by his side for all of it.

Very much unlike Chris, Sydney's date. She was standing off to the side waiting for him to finish talking to his friends.

The night is still young by Nicki Minaj was playing.

Austin and I separated from the group and found a nice little area off to the side to take it all in.

I started to sway to the music 

"Are you thirsty?" Austin asked.

I nodded my head, "Yeah"

"I'll be right back."

I looked around at everyone with their dates. No one was really dancing.

Everyone was just talking and saying hello to people they knew and even people that they usually wouldn't talk to.

A girl I usually see during the passing period to my 3rd period class even said hi to me. I almost didn't recognize her.

I looked around at all the decorations. The bleachers had white covers over them, the stage was decorated with the words 'HOMECOMING 2015' with various sizes of  snowflakes surround it. There was a disco light too.

Austin came back with the drinks.

We talked about the decorations a little bit and the different corny themes our school usually goes with. 

It was a little awkward and I can't understand why.

Austin and I hang out a lot so this shouldn't be that weird right? 

He looked right into my eyes and the question I was secretly waiting for escaped his mouth.

"Wanna dance?" The song had changed and I didn't even notice. 

I held onto Austin's hand and he led me onto the dance floor near where our friends were.

They were all laughing and talking when we walked up and just being back with them I released a breath I didn't know I was holding in. 

It felt like the pressure of Austin and I being along had gone. 

I guess I just cant wrap my head around us being a couple yet. It's like every time I think about it I get butterflies but when we are just hanging out I don't. 

Austin grabbed my waist, catching me off guard and asked, "Are you okay?"

"yeah, just thinking."

Keeping his hand on my waist, he guided me to the middle of the dance floor.

Teach me how to dougie was on and Austin was trying to impress me with his dougie skills

"Thats all you got?" I teased.

I attempted, key word attempted, to dougie and I'm pretty sure I was bad judging by Austins laughter.

Seeing him laugh made me laugh and we just continued to laugh at each other, with each other..
