Fill Me In Chapter 20
"Well that's an interesting way of telling our parents about us." Austin said. We were at his house doing homework, well we were supposed to be doing homework but really we were on opposite ends of his sofa throwing popcorn at each other.
"My dad's still mad." I told him. I aimed a popcorn at his mouth.
"Well it just happened yesterday, so it's understandable." He opened wide and I threw the popcorn to his mouth. I missed though and almost hit his eye.
"Yeah but he hasn't spoken to me or even addressed my existence at all."
"Look, he'll come around I mean it's a lot to take in. He and my dad just started communicating again after what like 19 or 20 years."
"I guess but you know our moms hit it off." I tried to throw some more popcorn into his mouth and missed again hitting his chin.
"Yeah, good for them. Hey lets finish this assignment. I want to get my grades up." Austin put his bowl of popcorn on the coffee table and grabbed his books.
"Aw, you're cute when you get serious about your school work."
"Coach is cracking down on us about this game and I want to be on the court when we beat the jaguars."
"I love it when you talk basketball to me." I started laughing hysterically at my own joke and all I got out of Austin was a smirk and a small laugh.
"Come on Pia, I have to focus."
"Okay, okay."

After a couple hours of homework and tutoring we decided we were finished and put on a movie. I can't remember what we were watching but it was kind of boring.
I snuggled up next to Austin and he put his arm around me. Every time a funny part would come on, I'd look at Austin just to see his smile and the way his eyes light up every time he laughed.
Whenever he was focused on the movie I would pinch his cheek or play with his ear and he would try to bite my finger whenever I would try to touch his face again.
We heard a car pull up and we immediately jumped up and turned the tv off and opened up our workbooks.
"Working hard?" She walked in with her hands full of groceries.
"Enough for a break." Austin said. He closed his books and went to unload groceries.
I got up and went to the kitchen to see if his mom needed any help.
"Thank you for helping Austin."
"Oh no problem. Its nothing really." I was taking items out of the bags while Michele was putting them away.
"So you guys are official now?" Michele said as soon as Austin left the kitchen to grab more bags.
"Yeah."
"How are your parents taking it?"
"Um my mom is cool about it she just wishes I was more honest with her and my dad, well he doesn't like the thought at all."
"That's how Carter was at first. He wasn't sure it was a good idea but I told him the past is in the past. Can't hold a grudge forever right?"
"Right."
"Hey Pia, why don't you stay for dinner?" Michele asked once all the groceries were put away.
"I would love to but I think my parents want me home."
"I understand. But you can come over whenever you like."
I looked at Austin. I think this is the first time I've seen him like this. He was looking down at his feet avoiding eye contact and he was actually quiet and I think... Yeah he's blushing a little.
Oh my gosh Austin is embarrassed awe! How cute.
"I'll walk you home."

AUSTINS POV
"Mom!" I yelled out once I got home from across the street.
"Kitchen!"
"Why did you invite Pia to dinner?"
"Well you like her don't you?"
"Of course."
"and you're dating right?"
"Something like that"
"Winter formal is coming up isn't it?"
"Mom..."
"Austin listen, I know you want to ask her I heard you in your room."
"Mom!"
"Shh, wait. I have an idea that I'm pretty sure she will love."
