It's been a week and Austin and I haven't spoken much except for a hey whenever we're in school and a smile or a head nod if I see him and I'm with my family.
It kind of sucks.
I really want to talk to him but I just don't know how to approach him and text him after I basically told him to leave me alone.
I heard voices and me being my nosy self I peeked out of the window. I saw Austin and some of his friends from school loading up his camaro.
I closed the blinds and started to walk away until I really started thinking.
I'm tired of just the hey's and smiles so I decided to walk over there and speak up.
Brave of me, I know.
I was already crossing the street when he noticed me walking towards him.
There's no going back now
He met me at the end of the driveway and did the most surprising thing. He gave me a hug.
I hugged him back.
"What's up?" He gave a smile and my nerves went away.
"Thought I'd come say hi."
"Well I'm glad. We were all going to the beach, want to come?"
"Oh I don't know"
"You should definitely come! I'm Becky." A gorgeous girl with long black hair said.
"You know unless you're scared your parents will say no." Austin teased.
"Lucky you, my parents aren't home." I gently pushed him, "Becky want to help me pick something out?"
"Sure!"
Becky followed me up to my room and I thought of this as the perfect opportunity to ask her about herself mostly about her and Austin.
"So how long have you known Austin?" I asked her as she plopped down on my bed.
She just started laughing.
"Look, I know what you're thinking. Pretty girl who's close to Austin she must like him." She threw her hands in the air dramatically.
"I don't like him. He's my best friend. Trust me." She placed her hand over her chest and I felt a little better about the whole thing.
"Hey, relax. Either way I think he likes you." She stood up and started playing with her hair in my full length mirror.
I got these butterflies in my stomach. Player boy actually likes me? I doubt it.
"Do this a lot?" I asked her. The whole situation didn't even faze her.
"No Not really." She turned around to face me, "So what are you wearing?"
I went into my closet and came out with a black bathing suit with pink and blue geometric shapes. I grabbed a grey muscle tee and white shorts and l laid them on the bed
"I like it. We're going to get along great. Just give me a bag and some towels and I'll put them in car."

I was laying in the sand on one of the towels. I'm glad they brought an umbrella because this heat is ridiculous.
I was watching Becky, Sean and Alex play soccer. I really wasn't into it. Every now and then Becky would take the ball from Sean and he'd pick her up and spin her around.
I was mostly trying to distract myself from a napping, shirtless Austin who is literally right next to me. My heart has not stopped racing since.
I started to get up to go in the water but something grabbed my ankle. If I didn't know Austin was next to me I probably would have screamed.
"Scared you?" He asked.
"No" I turned to face him.
"Then why did you jump?"
I rolled my eyes and started back to the water.
"Austin you playing? I need some competition?" Sean yelled. He was holding the soccer ball above his head and out of Becky's reach.
That's when I noticed Austin was following behind me.
He just shook his head. He fell into step with me "Hey let's go this way."
Austin grabbed my hand and pulled me in the opposite direction of the water.
My heart started racing and a million thoughts were going through my head right now.
We suddenly stopped and I realized he was still holding my hand. I took a look around and we were further down the beach where it was less crowded. I headed towards the water and Austin followed.
"You know I don't know you all too well." Austin said.
I sat down in the sand along the shore. The feel of the waves coming over my legs felt good in this hot weather.
"I only know what I've heard. I want to get to know the real you." Austin said sitting down next to me. He hugged his knees to his chest and locked his hands together.
"Same." I told him. He looked at me shocked.
"Now I want to know what you heard."
I scoffed, "I've heard some things."
"Like what?"
"That you couldn't be trusted. Oh and my favorite, that you're a player."
"Oh really says who?"
"My parents." I told him.
"And you believe everything they say?"
"Not anymore. What about me?"
"That you were conniving and you were manipulative."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah. Of course I don't believe it. You're sweet. Not at all mean and conniving."
"What about manipulative?"
"Hey be happy with what you got."
I pushed Austin and he stood up and ran deeper into the water. I followed him.
When we were waist deep he started splashing me and I splashed him back.
