Enough Courage

☆Chapter 9

"You guys wanna ride up separately? You guys can follow me."

Collins stands outside of his Audi with the door open, shielding his eyes from the sun with his hand.

"Sure!" Shaina says. When Collins looks away she smirks at me. I know exactly what she's thinking as she eyes the Audi again. I shake my head as if it was going to make her thoughts disappear.

I go to get in the backseat of Shaina's car.

"Hey!" Collins shouts at me to get my attention. I turn around and look at him. He has the passenger side door open. I point at myself, silently asking a question.

He laughs, "duh."

I blush, "yeah." I walk up to his car a put my bags in the trunk. "It was obvious wasn't it."

"It was pretty obvious." Kelesy laughs from the front seat of Shaina's car.

I whip my head around and glare at her. "Oh-kay..."

She puts her hands up, "just saying."

"See you guys there." I say ending the conversation. I get in Collins' car and he shuts the door for me.

He gets in and starts the car.

"Are you sure you don't mind them tagging along?"

He shakes his head, "no. I don't mind at all."

"What about the other people going? Do they care?"

"I'm paying, so it doesn't matter if they mind or not." He laughs.

"Ok gotcha." I nod my head. "Speaking of other people how many people are going?"

"Four guys including me, and five girls including you." He smiles at me. "Oh and that's including your friends."

"Eh, I wouldn't necessarily call them my friends." I laugh.

"Really? You guys seem pretty close."

"We're roommates. Kinda have to be somewhat close. Especially, when you share one bathroom."

He laughs, "you have a point."

"I never asked, do you live on campus?"

"No, I have an apartment off campus downtown."

Downtown is super nice. Imagine the nicest college town around you, that's downtown. His parents must pay for his apartment. He hasn't mentioned a job or anything but he did mention his parents were wealthy.

"Nice." I say. "Just you?" I ask out of curiosity.

He looks at me quickly with a smirk. "Yes."

I try to hide my smile.

"I'm picking up some of the other people coming too. If that's okay?" He asks even though he doesn't need to.

"Of course."

Ten minutes later we pull up to a huge yellow house with big windows and a barn in the backyard.

Two guys and a girl step of the porch. The guys look like their from magazines, and I automatically get self-conscious. The girl has long, dark hair and a tan complexion. She smiles at Collins and I've never seen whiter teeth than hers.

Great, I think to myself. What did I get into.

I look in the mirror back at Shaina and Kelsey and they're both staring at the three walking to Collins car.

They all squeeze into the back of the Audi.

"Hey man!" One of the guys say and pats Collins shoulder.
