Kelesy and Shaina get to the porch a few minutes later.
They look ridiculous with a suitcase and big bag each.
"Hey," Shaina says to the group. She sounds almost out of breath after climbing the porch steps. "I'm Ellis' roommate."
It's silent for way too long, and thankfully Collins ends the silence.
"Nice to meet you, Shaina." He looks at Kelesy. "Already met you once."
"The best study session ever!" Kelesy laughs.
"Well," Collins shrugs. "I did pass my exam, so I don't know. It could have possibly been the best."
Collins finally puts the key in the door and just before he turn the key the door opens abruptly.
"Gabby!" A girl with blonde hair, a blue sundress and sweater steps out of the house and basically tackles Gabby.
"Danielle!" Gabby shrieks with joy. "I missed you so much!"
Behind the girls a tall guy steps out into view.
Kelesy takes her sunglasses off and places them on top of her head. She squinted up at him.
"Eric?" She asks surprised.
"Kelesy." He says simply. Not looking any kind of emotion. Bad thing? Good thing?
"Oh," she says everything finally clicking. "Study group, you're the one who invited Collins."
He nods, and rolls his eyes. "Yes."
Silence erupts over everyone again, and I'm about to faint from awkwardness. But Collins is the hero again.
"Well everyone knows where your rooms are except for you three, so you can follow me." Collins says to me, Shaina, and Kelsey.
I watch as Danielle and Gabby basically skip down the hallway past the kitchen. The really, really nice kitchen. The nicest, prettiest one I have ever seen in person.
It had a huge granite countertop island right in the middle, and a big window behind it allowing everyone to see the ocean. It had a nice cabin feel to it just as the outside of the house did.
We follow Collins up another flight of stairs and pushes open a set of dark, wood, French doors.
There's a full sized mattress and a twin on opposite sides of the room.
"Twin's mine." Shaina says quickly. "Not sharing a bed with either of you. "Plus, I'm the oldest."
I don't say anything, but Kelesy rolls her eyes.
"I roll in my sleep." She says to me.
Collins looks at me with empathy.
"Sorry we don't have another bed. Luckily Justin and Danielle are dating so we were able to free up an extra bed."
"It's totally fine we'll make it work." I assure him confidently.
"Great," he smiles at me. "I'll let you guys get settled in." He turns and leaves the room.
Kelesy flops herself on the full sized bed. This time I roll my eyes.
There's a big window in between the two beds.
"Look at this view." I say putting my hands on the window seal. "Maine's so beautiful."
September in Maine meant the trees were starting to turn.
"I wish we were in Florida." Kelesy ruins my moment. "It's too cold to swim here."
"Shut up." Shaina says. "Literally, just try to enjoy it."
