When I get home Shaina is cooking again. The smell of rotting flesh floods our house. Kelesy is standing at our one living room window with her nose plugged wafting the smell outside with a kitchen towel.

"I really don't understand why she thinks she can cook." She says quietly.

Just then Shaina walks into the living room looking defeated. She sighs, "I'm ordering pizza. You guys want anything?"

Kelesy bursts into laughter, "why the hell didn't you just do that in the first place?"

I just stand there wondering why I decided to move out of my parents house to live with two room mates. Oh yeah, it would have been equally as bad there if not worse.

"So do you guys want anything?" Shaina says impatiently, ignoring Kelesy's question.

"Yes! Pepperoni!" I finally answer.

"You're so basic." Kelesy scoffs. "Pineapple on mine please."

Shaina dials the nearest pizza place on her phone.

"You know what's not basic?" I smirk. Kelesy's eyebrow rises. "I got a date." Shaina makes an "O" shape with her mouth, then goes back to talking with the pizza guy.

"No way." Kelesy says like she really doesn't believe me. "With who?"

"Remember Collins from our study group the other night?" I say smiling like an idiot. "Him"

"You guys didn't even say anything to each other." She claims still fanning the air.

"We didn't in front of you guys." I flop myself onto our love seat and it makes a creaking sound.

"Easy. We only have one seat in this place." Then Kelesy does the same and the love seat makes an even louder creak. She makes a face, as if she was saying "oops".

"We actually met the morning before that. On the bus, I had one of my clumsy moments."

Kelesy laughs, "Of course you did, you're Ellis."

"Well, it actually came in hand this one time." This time I smirk at her. "I'm not a complete idiot."

"So when are you guys going out?" She asks. Shaina makes a gesture like she's wondering the same thing.

"We still haven't set an actual date."

"What are you waiting for girlfriend?" Kelesy reaches for my phone on our coffee stand and then pushes it into my hand. "Get on with it."

I stare down at my phone like it's a foreign object. I've talked to Collins many times now, but it still makes me nervous. I just don't want to say the wrong thing. "What if I screw it up? What if I just want to enjoy him actually liking me for a couple of days."

Kelesy frowns, "Why do you think he will eventually not like you?"

"Because I'm no one special. He already knows that, he might get bored."

"Ellis, we might pick on you a lot. I mean a lot. But you are amazing, and even if he doesn't think so, he's not worth it anyways."

My eyes water because that's like the nicest thing Kelesy has ever said.

"Don't get all emotional on me Ellis." She lightly punches my shoulder. "Just go for it."

Shaina sits down on the floor across from us, finally done ordering pizza. "Yeah, Kelesy's right. If you really like this guy, then you have to just go for it. And if it's meant to be, it will last."

I bring up his name in my phone and start a new message.

Ellis: Hey Collins, when did you want to meet up? I know a good cafe.
