Chapter 1

15th July 2007

Sharanya woke up with the blaring sound of alarm clock and looked everywhere. Where the hell she was? What was this place? What was the date? What time it was? She got confused and scared at the same time. Her brain took a minute to process everything. She remained in that state until she heard someone shouting "Shut that bloody alarm Sharu"

Sharanya turned the alarm off and took a deep breath. She remembered where she was. She was in her new flat where she had moved just yesterday.

It was the last year of her college. Last few months with her friends in Lonavala where her college campus was. She and her five friends decided that they were gonna have fun in this last year. So they decided on a residential building which was near to their college and rented flats there. Everything was perfectly planned.

They all were studying in a very prestigious private University named Maharaja Trivikram University or as they called it 'MTU'.

There were a lot of residential buildings around the University campus. Students considered them to be part of the campus itself though it wasn't. But mostly the people living in those buildings were students of university.

The campus was situated on top of a hill and contained a lot of different colleges of different streams. Everywhere you'd see you'd find the huge similar looking, white coloured buildings of colleges and hostels and lush green mountains of Sahyadri range. The University had an open campus so it contained residential buildings, cafes, stores and even some hidden hookah bars!

Students from all over the country came to their university to study..

Meh..!

Students from all over the country came to their university to have fun, to live a life where rules could be easily bent, where nothing was much strict like other colleges and may be some study.. Just because they wanted a degree!!

You can say that it was a different world in itself. Once you get in the campus of MTU it was not easy to settle somewhere else.

So Sharanya and her friends Riva and Nidhi decided to rent a flat in a building which was near their college, MTU'S school of law!

Sharanya and her friends were a final year student of law college. She was almost a lawyer! Her father was a lawyer too and had a big law firm which Sharanya was going to join soon!

Her friends used to worry that how will she be able to defend her client in some case? Because Sharanya was a very shy girl. She wouldn't even talk to her friends properly let alone be the strangers. She was the most introvert person you'd ever find. It seemed like only her friends had heard her voice in last five years!

Her's was a course of five years. First three years went by so easily that she couldn't even count them as an experience of college life. She had minimal friends and loved to stay alone. At least that's what she told herself!

Sharanya had two best friends who were now her roommates. Riva and Nidhi. Riva was exactly opposite to Sharanya. She was outgoing, extrovert, fun loving, drama loving girl who liked attention. All she ever want was attention. But she wasn't the typical mean bitch that everyone thought she was.

Riva was the first person to meet Sharanya. On first day of college Riva introduced herself to whole class and found Sharanya sitting on last bench alone. Riva went to talk to her. She liked Sharanya and adopted her!

Nidhi was the one who was combination of both Riva and Sharanya. She was a sensible girl who knew where to keep quiet and where to talk. What to do and what not to. So to keep both Sharanya and Riva Nidhi was important!
