The ride there took you almost all night.
When you finally arrived at the camp it were ever quiet with only but a few people awake. They were scattered about around various dying fires.
Those who could not sleep you supposed. As you quietly got off your horse and walked around you could feel the adrenaline setting in.
You'd made it.
You had slipped in through the cracks.
You heard the faint sounds of a familiar voice and tensed up ducking behind a tent immediately.
Glancing down at your feet you noticed there were several sets of armour lying about. Seeing the perfect opportunity you picked up one of the helmets tucking your hair in and sticking it on.
Peaking once again around the corner you heard Griffith's calm voice as he went walking past.
He were speaking with two of the others who you recognized as Commander Casca and Captain Guts.
They were walking while discussing some sort of battle plans as they went into one of the larger tents.
Were they not planning on getting any sleep? You wondered as you cautiously scanned the area for the best place to crash for the night.
Exploring the area you managed to located one of the more distant tents which only held hay for the horses.
This is perfect you thought as you lay your items down.
You planned to come back, you just had to put Charlotte's horse with the others first.
Cautiously you peered out from the tent again scanning your surroundings.
There weren't any signs of Griffith or the others anywhere.
Slowly drawing back out you walked your horse to the posts and fences they had set in place.
You noticed a few soldiers guarding it and gave a nod their way. They found it odd that you were dressed in full armour already.
Late arrival?
No, I was sent out to deliver a last minute message to the King.
They seemed to respect you a little more after that sentence and one even offered to set your horse up for you.
You thanked them in the manliest voice you could muster realising it were best not to draw attention to the fact that you were a woman or else rumor would spread quickly of the bizarre news. This would quickly carry to Griffith and you'd be found out in no time.
On your way back you could see so many soldiers sitting by fires. Probably the nerves of tomorrow's battle kept them awake and yet they still wore smiles and chatted.
It were certainly a different sense of feeling amongst Griffith's men.
They entrusted him no matter what. Even against such odds they stuck by him ready to face the devil himself if asked to.
