After watching two people choosing their home factions, we leave the building before everyone else and make our way over to the train tracks. Everyone else starts to run and so do I. It feels so good to run. The cold breeze hitting my cheeks, the adrenaline finally taking over after so long of not being able to escape. I'm finally free. No more rules, no more thinking of others. Just me. I can finally think straight without people telling me off for not standing up for someone on the bus, or not helping an old woman carry her shopping. Of course I'll have to follow orders, but that's different. In order to be successful in Dauntless I need to listen to my instructors and pass initiation. Once that's over, I can get a job and my own house in Dauntless. But first, I need to actually get into Dauntless before any of that happens.

After about a minute of running I stop in my tracks. This is where we board the train. I climb up one of the many legs holding the track in place, and pull myself up and onto the path at the side of the train tracks. I look around and see that I'm the only abnegation here. When I look around again I feel a tap on my right shoulder. I turn around and see the boy who gave me his seat in the choosing ceremony. 'Hey.' He smiles. 'Hi.' Is all I say and he continues. 'So, you're still alive then.' I look down at my lower body then look back at him with wide eyes. 'Well, won't you look at that, you're right. Never would've guessed.' I reply sarcastically. He chuckles, widening his smile.

'I'm Jay, dauntless born.' 'I'm Eleanor, my last name's not as cool as yours though, dauntless born is a pretty awesome surname, don't you think?' He laughs, showing his smile a second time. 'Pretty odd for an abnegation to be sarcastic.' I lift an eyebrow showing what all over my face. 'And why's that then?' He thinks a second then answers. 'Abnegation are supposed to be selfless, always thinking of others. Sarcasm isn't exactly included in your daily routine.' I hum a reply. 'And that Jay, is the exact reason why I left. Don't think they'd be able to live with me any longer. I'd probably have set something on fire and I'd be in isolation right now.' Jay laughs again. 'Good job you chose Dauntless then. You'll fit right in.' I shake my head. 'Doubt it, don't think I fit anywhere.' Jay sighs. 'Trust me, if you don't fit in Abnegation you'll be perfect for Dauntless. They're complete opposites.'

I sigh. 'Okay, I'll give you that one. Just wish me luck that I don't cause trouble here as well.' Jay laughs a little uneasily. 'Oh trust me, you won't be causing trouble when you meet the leaders. If you're standing two steps closer to them than you're supposed to, they'll probably make you do five laps of the Dauntless compound.' I stare at him wide eyed for a few seconds. 'Well, I'll cross that one off of my bucket list.' Jay grins and then I hear the sound of a train and rattling tracks.

'Start running!' Jay shouts over all the noise. I begin at a steady jog that gradually turns into a run. The train runs alongside me for a while then overtakes me. I run faster then grab onto the train and place my foot into a gap near the train door. I press a button and the train door opens. I swing my body in the direction of the opening and pull myself inside. Jay follows shortly after and stands next to me. 'Are you sure you're an Abnegation? Or are you secretly Dauntless, because you're a natural.' I blush a little at his compliment but I don't think he sees it. 'I wish I was Dauntless, the natural part, maybe.' Jay smirks at the last part and looks around for anyone he knows.

All of the people are in the train cart now, and I don't think he can find anybody. Jay walks in front then turns and gestures for me to follow him, and I do. He stops at the open train cart door, gripping the frame so he doesn't fall out, I do the same as Jay, only, I'm opposite him. I look at the passing buildings, and the small black dots below that must be people. I look over at Jay who's already looking at me for my reaction, I presume. He smiles and I smile back. 'It's beautiful.' I say. 'Yeah.' We both look back at the view when someone tells us to 'get ready'.

Jay says 'follow me' as he walks to the back of the train cart. I do as he says and follow his lead. 'What are we doing?' Jay quickly answers. 'Jumping.' I look at him and he nods at me. He wouldn't lie, so we really are jumping. I get into my running position, like Jay, and get ready to run. The next building comes into sight and Jay finally speaks. 'On three.' He looks over at me and I nod. 'One, two.' I can see the roof of the building. 'Three.' I say before Jay and start to run. When I come to the edge of the cart I jump, pretty high, I might add. When I hit the ground I land on my feet, about four feet away from the edge of the building. Jay lands like me, only, he's three feet away from the edge. He walks up to me and smiles. 'Definitely made for Dauntless.'
