'I feel great.'
Eric heaves a heavy sigh of relief as he walks back to the couch and sits down. I follow after him and do the same. I lean back and close my eyes, sighing as I do so. I can feel Eric's eyes on me, but I'm too relaxed to care. I stay like this for a few minutes before I open my eyes and look over at Eric, who is still watching me from the side. When I look at him, instead of turning away, he keeps staring, and staring, and staring. I lift an eyebrow before clicking my fingers in front of his face multiple times. He snaps out of his daydream, a confused look on his face. I look away and sigh again. 'It's rude to stare y'know.' I say bored. I look at Eric from the side and realise the look of confusion is no longer on his face. Instead of saying 'sorry' he lifts a mocking eyebrow and smirks. 'I never knew.' He says. 'Well, now you know.' I reply in the bored tone. We stay in silence, and I close my eyes. 'So' I pause 'What do you do for fun in here?' He doesn't reply. 'Got anything to do? Or are you one of those guys who works but doesn't play?' I ask and Eric smirks, obviously thinking about what I said. 'Are you saying you want me to play with you?' He questions, the smirk still plastered on his face. 'Ugh.' I groan. 'Shut up. You know what I meant.' This just makes his smirk grow wider.
'Seriously, though. What can we do?' I ask. Eric looks around the room thinking. 'Movies?' He asks. 'Depends.' I pause 'What you got?' Eric pulls himself off of the couch and walks towards the bookcase to the left of the TV. He crouches down and lets his eyes skim over the shelf. He grabs a movie, stands up, and walks towards the television. After pressing a button and injecting the DVD, he sits back down next to me. 'What movie is it?' I ask, genuinely curious of his film tastes. 'You'll see.' He says, leaving me unanswered. The title screen comes on and Eric presses the 'play' button on the remote next to him. After a while, the movie comes on and I'm actually a bit shocked.'Batman?' I ask.
'Ever watched it before?' He questions while looking at me.
'No, but I was actually thinking that I wanted to watch it though.' I reply honestly.
'This whole psychic thing is actually becoming helpful.' He jokes.
I laugh at what he says and he smiles back.
*****
It's about halfway through the movie when Eric stands up and walks into the kitchen. I decide not to follow him because, one- I might miss any important parts of the movie, and two- I'm like really comfy. 'Lana?' Eric calls out. 'Yeah?' I turn my head around and I am greeted by a flying packet heading my way. I jump up and lean over the back of the sofa, so I can catch the bag. As soon as the packet lands in my hands, I see Eric's eyes look over in my direction. 'Good catch.' He compliments. 'Thanks.' I say.
I get comfortable on the couch then turn the packet over. 'Popcorn?' I ask. 'Yep.' Eric replies. The cushion next to me dips down as Eric sits next to me. 'Salty or sweet?' He questions. I look up and see he has an extra bag in his hands. 'Sweet.' I answer. He sighs and throws the popcorn he has in his hands onto the coffee table. 'You better like sharing then.' He says, holding his hand out for the popcorn. I give him the bag and watch as he opens it. 'Move up.' He orders, patting the spot next to him. I do as he says and sit next to him on the couch. He holds the bag in my directon so I grab a handful of popcorn, popping one in my mouth. It's not too sweet, yet not too plain, with a perfect crunchy texture. Delicious. My eyes wander back to the television screen and because I haven't been paying attention, it seems that I have missed about five minutes of the movie. Oh well.
As the film continues, I take quite a few handfuls of popcorn, Eric doing the same. To my surprise, Eric doesn't stuff his face like I thought he would (I don't know why). He only takes another handful after I do, making the popcorn last a lot longer. Normally, I take another handful every ten to fifteen minutes, making sure to make each piece last. I don't regularly eat sweet things like popcorn, so when I do I like to savor the taste as much as possible. It's almost two hours through the movie, and there's one piece of popcorn left. Both me and Eric took our last handful, and here we are. I don't want to take it because I feel like I'm being rude towards Eric. And it seems that Eric doesn't want to take it either.
