"You?" He scoffed. "You're the one I am supposed to work with?""Yes," I said, pressing my lips in a tight line and trying to compose myself from my temper.
"Unbelievable. You could have at least told me you were a woman. It would have saved us both time and money."
The nerve of this sexist, offensive, stupid man.
I was currently sitting in my office, trying very hard not to say things that I might, or might not, regret.
Meanwhile, Mr. Lombardi was pacing back and forth like a mad man. He then stopped, glowered at me, then continued.
After a couple minutes, I let out a loud sigh and got out of my office. I walked towards my personal assitant, who was working on something in the computer.
She noticed that I was walking towards her, so she looked up at me and smiled. I guess she noticed I wasn't a happy camper because her smile faltered.
"Ms. Moretti, is everything okay?" She asked me.
"No, Julissa. It's not okay. I am going to take an early lunch. I left some papers on my desk that I need to be filed, so once that man leaves please do so."
"Sure thing, Ms. Moretti," she said with her smile back on. "Anything else you need for me to do?"
"Yes, if that man doesn't leave my office in the next five minutes, call security," I ordered her.
Her smile shifted to a small "O" and nodded her head.
"Sure thing miss. Have a nice lunch," she wished me.
I went inside the elevator and thanked God no one was in there. I did not want any of my employees seeing me like this.
The elevator made a ding sound indicating that I got to the first floor. I made my way to the garage where I parked my car earlier. As I was heading towards my car, I saw one of the security team members standing beside it. I was confused as to why he was there.
"Hello, sir," I said once I approached him and my car.
He faced me, since he was facing another way, and smiled.
"Hello, Ms. Moretti. Sorry for the intrusion but my team and I got a call from your p.a. to remove some man from your office. For extra precaution, I decided to wait here by your car until you got in safely," he rushed.
I processed this through my mind. So they did eventually take Mr. Lombardi out of my office. For a second I wish I could have seen that. That made me smile a bit.
"Oh, well thank you. I'll be on my way now."
I started my car after he wished me a nice lunch. I drove out of the garage without having any idea were I was going to. I wasn't hungry at all. I just wanted to get out of my office before my anger could control me and say some nasty things to Mr. Lombardi. That cruel, sexist man.
After weighing out my options of where I should go, I decided to go to my mom's restaurant, La Bella Luna. My mom had been running the restaurant for as long as I could remember.
I remembered when I was in grade school, my father would come pick me up after school and take me to the restaurant so he can get back to cooking. The restaurant was my second home. If I wasn't at school or at my actual house, I was there.
I finally made it to the valet area and waited for someone to park my car. Once someone did so, I walked into the restaurant and walked straight to the hostess.
"Hello, do you have a reservation?" The hostess asked me.
I'm guessing this host was new because she didn't recognize me.
