Charles' pov:

I'm worried for Olly.

She called me late last night, crying her eyes out, barely able to string together a sentence. I immediately told her to stay where she was and headed to her apartment. On the way, I called her sister Charlotte. The two sisters were really close, and I knew that Charlotte would have the answer to Olly's troubles.

"Hey Charles" spoke Charlotte as she answered the phone, her British accent much thicker than her sister's "What's up?"

"I'm on my way to Olly's," I replied "She just called, and was pretty upset about something, did you know what it was about?"

"Oh. Uhm, I was kinda assuming Ol would've already told you..." Lottie trailed off

"Told me what?"

"Mum and Dad are gone Charles... They, uhm, there was a car accident... a speeding driver on the moors... they both passed away..."

"Oh my god. I'm so sorry Lottie"

"Thank you Charles, but don't worry about me okay? We should both be worrying about Olly instead. I didn't realize she'd taken the news so badly, she seemed somewhat okay when I called. Look after her for me please Charles, I don't want her to fall back into her hole again"

"Don't worry Lottie, I'll keep an eye on her" I promised

"Thanks, I'm going to try to get a flight out to you two later in the week, I just need to get some things sorted with Jackson, see if he can look after Ellie for a week or so"

"Let me know once you've booked your flight, I'll pick you up from the airport if I can"

"Thanks Charles, I'll see you soon. Don't forget to keep a close eye on Olly, okay? You know how she can be"

"I will, I'll see you soon Lottie" I said as the line went dead

"Emily and Mark" I thought to myself, as I parked my car outside Olly's apartment block. I'd know Olly's parents almost my whole life, having grown up karting with their son Jackson. In a way, I saw them as second parents to me. Through karting, Mark had become good friends with my father, and he would often give me tips on my driving even though I was one of his son's rivals. He'd always treated me as if I was another one of his children, especially after my own father passed away a few years ago. I remembered Emily as the mother of the karting circuit, the provider. She never arrived at a circuit without her supplies, and would always have a stand where she would sell hot drinks and snacks for the parents and children. I couldn't believe that they were gone.

I let myself into Olly's apartment, using the spare key she kept in the plant pot next to the door. The kitchen and living room were deserted, everything perfectly organized and tidied away in the typical Olivia-style. As I headed towards her bedroom, I could begin to hear soft, muffled sobs.

The door creaked as I opened it, unheard by Olly, who was hidden under the covers, her body turned away from the door.

"Olly?" I whispered as I sat down beside her

She rolled over to face me, wiping away the tears on her cheeks with the bedsheets. "Hi Charlie"

Her hair was a mess, tangled and knotted from where she must've been tossing and turning. Her mascara had run down her face, drawing dark gray lines down her cheeks.

"Lottie told me what happened Ol, I'm so sorry"

"I just can't believe it Charlie, I don't want to believe it. They can't be gone"

I laid down and wrapped his arms around me into a hug. "I know it's not going to be easy Olly, but you're going to get through it. You helped me when I lost Jules and Papa, and I'm going to help you know. However long it takes"
