A/N. Reviews!
"How many chapters are you planning for this?" -DeadDredd
No idea. I'm kinda following the outline and ending a chapter when I feel like it's at a natural end.
"Feeling some Jack Sparrow vibes right now if you know what I mean ;)" -TH3MinniiSavage
Well, I was inspired by PotC, so there's bound to be some vibes from it.
"Cool" -perzoeOTP
Thank you!
Anyways, onto the late chapter!
Chapter Four
The crew on the Andromeda celebrated as their mutiny went off without a hitch. They opened the bottles of wine that they had hidden in their quarters, deciding it was the perfect time to use them. Not like they would need to hide them now.
Luke emerged on deck with the code of the ship and a bowl. In the bowl was some kindling, and some wood, enough to make a small fire. He set the bowl and the code on the deck. He grabbed a lantern and started a fire in the bowl.
"My crew! Cease your festivities for a moment." Luke called.
Ethan and Alabaster stopped their drinking and turned to Luke.
"It is tradition, to burn the code of the old captain, to make way for the new." Luke lifted a bottle of rum. "But first, we toast, to a new age aboard the Andromeda!"
Ethan and Alabaster repeated the toast, and all three of them took a swig of rum.
Luke smiled and picked up the code. He carefully dipped the edge of the paper in the fire, catching it on fire. He held the burning code up for his crew to see. "We must elect a new captain, someone to guide us."
"I nominate you, Luke." Ethan said. "You got us out from Percy's tyrannical rule."
"I second that." Alabaster said.
Luke smiled again as he dropped the burning code. "A new age! The Golden age of Pirates!"
On the floor, the last of the page burned, the last thing turning to ash being the handwritten signature of (former) Captain Percy Jackson.
LINE BREAK
Percy needed to find water. That was his first goal. Without water, he would become dehydrated and die. The cruelest joke was that he was surrounded by water, none of it drinkable. But he knew some things about finding water from when he was a freeman on the Queen Anne's Revenge under Captain Ares, before the mutiny.
He knew that coconuts had water, but not the mature brown ones. For some reason, it made people sick when they drank water from them. But the young, green ones, those worked just fine. Luckily, he had seen some coconut trees, but he had no idea if any of them had sprouted coconuts, or if they would be the ones he needed.
The beach had coconut trees growing, hell, he had used the bark of one to cut his bonds. He looked up at the tree to see the fruit that hung from the trunk. In the dying sunlight, he could make out a bunch of coconuts underneath the leaves of the tree. There were two trunks that sprouted coconuts, one that was really far up, and the other that was a little closer. Potentially reachable.
He jumped up and tried to grab a coconut, but just barely missed it. He tried again multiple times, each time not succeeding. He sighed and studied the tree. Where the two trunks split off from each other, he could get a foot in there, and then use that to jump and grab a coconut.
