Chapter 2

VEE POV

"Mommmm, Vee taking a shower for an hour"

It was early in the morning and the couple already dealing with their fully grown kid's petty fight.

"Knock knock knock"

"Vee, my lovable, sweet and most handsome brother can you come out now? I am asking you politely Vee".

"Ten more minutes" Vee shouted from inside the bathroom.

"Omg Vee are you serious? You have already been there for an hour. You know today I must deal with a few clients for their wedding trial make-up. It's already getting late. Why don't you use your bathroom?"

"My bathroom shower is broken"

I was opening the bathroom door while drying my hair with a towel.

"How about mom and dad's bathroom," Yiwaa asked while crossing her both hands.

"Your bathroom is nicer than us Yiwaa"

"Enough! Vee, go get change first. Your dad waiting for you downstairs to eat breakfast together.

"Yiwaa, what are you waiting for go take a shower, the bathroom is already empty now."

I stuck out my tongue toward my sister while wiggling my head and followed Yiwaa doing the same to me while entering the bathroom.

I went to my bedroom to get dressed for work. Today is my first day entering a corporate job. Certainly, I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. It always gives me mixed feelings whenever I'm going to a place that is not familiar with. I know my dad insists me continuing the family business, but I want to learn and gain more experience to help my family business in future. After all the discussions and negotiations I had with my father, he let me work at Jaya Corp which all thanks goes to my mom because without her I was never able to handle my dad.

"Good morning dad" I greeted my father who is busy reading the news from his iPad.

"Morning Vee. So, are you excited to join the new workplace"?

"Yeah, dad. I heard some good reviews about the company I'm joining. So, I was hoping to get a new experience by working there."

"Vee you still have time to think about it. You know we have a family business that you can run. It's more flexible for you. You don't have to rush going to the office.

"Dadddd you know I won't abandon our business just like that. I'm doing this for our business future dad. I'm using this opportunity to learn more."

Sigh "Okay okay. Whatever I'm saying right now you won't be listening. I'm just wasting my saliva. Youngsters these days."

"Shoot dad mom I'm getting late for work, I excuse myself first."

"Good luck on your first day Vee" Vee's mom cheers from the kitchen.

"Do your best Vee, call dad if you need anything"

"Okay mom dad bye I love you"

I leave the house after sipping my coffee while waving goodbye to my parents.

After reaching the office building, I parked my car in the basement of the building, I was rummaging my backpack to make sure I took all the necessary items before leaving. Before shutting my car engine, I look at myself in the front mirror for the last time by adjusting my hair and shirt to make sure I look presentable for the first day of work.

After asking for help from a security guard who was on duty near the lift, I was able to get into the eleventh floor where the office was located.  As soon I exit the lift, I notice there was a glass door to my right as an entrance to the office room.

"They did not tell me what to do once I reach the office". I was looking through the glass door since it was see-through and all the cubicles were empty.

"Should I call HR?"

"Or should I ring the bell over here?"

Vee walks back and forth while making a decision, suddenly a hand taps on Vee's shoulder and makes Vee jump a little.

"Uncle Max"?

"Eh Vee what are you doing here"?

"Uncle I just got a new job from this company."

"Vee so you are the new employee joining here today"? Sorry Vee it is still early that is why nobody is here yet. Sorry to make you wait, come in first"

"It is okay uncle". Saying as I was entering Uncle Max's office room.

"So, Vee your father did not inform me that you going to join here."

"Uncle even I'm shocked to know that you are this company's CEO." Yes,  it is a bit shocking for me to know that Uncle Max, one of my dad's close friends is the CEO of Jaya Corp. For sure my dad was not even aware of it too.

"Sit first Vee, let me call my assistant first. I bet she must be here". Uncle Max said while picking up his telephone to call his assistant.

"Hello Ploy come to the office room for a while"

While me and Uncle Max having a conversation, I heard the door behind me being open. I turn myself to see the source of the sound, it is when I saw Ploy for the first time. A figure that easily gets attracts anyone's attention. Her charming smile well dressed, and manner gesture was something else. I was zoned out while looking at the women who stand beside Uncle Max.

"Vee...Vee, you okay? Look like you are zoning out" Uncle Max call me while waving his hand toward my face.

"Hehehehe definitely fine uncle" Smiling awkwardly while caressing my non-itch nape.

"Vee this is Ploy she is my assistant. If you need anything or have any problem, you can talk to her"

We shook our hands after Uncle Max introduced us to each other.

"Ploy where is Mark"?

And I heard another opening door sound from my behind and there where I saw Mark for the first time as well. It was the first time my inner soul urged me to say cute and handsome of a male figure standing directly in front of me. I can't describe anything since I was too stunned to speak. We make direct eye contact which makes me zone out once again.

How lucky my eyes today to see two beautiful things :)
