Chapter 6

VEE POV

The hall become less chaotic since everyone was heading home after dinner ends. I was thinking this could be the best opportunity for me to ask for a date with Ploy.

"Ring Ring Ring." Vee's phone started to ring.

"Hello," Vee said

"Delivery guy here, you ordered a large rose bouquet this morning. I'm waiting at the hotel entrance to deliver it.

"Yeah, hang in there, I'm coming." Vee ends the call.

Before heading to the hall, I made sure that I look good, and feel relaxed and prepared before facing her. I'm super nervous right now because this is the first time I'm asking a girl for a date. I have dated a few girls before this, but during times they always approach me, so I just go with their flow but now it's vice versa.

"Shit shit shit I'm so nervous. I tapped my feet repeatedly.

"No Vee you got this. Okay!" I give myself some taps on my both cheeks and adjust my hair, posture, inhale and exhale before heading back to the hall. I hide the large bouquet behind my back.

When I entered the hall, I saw Ploy, Bar and Nuea were at the dinner table and Mark was missing. The ploy was on her phone until she was not even aware of me standing behind her.

"Ploy...."

"Hmmm?" she just hummed and still looked at her phone.

I rolled my eyes while moving forward and standing in front of her.

"Ploy look at me."

"What is Vee." Ploy ask while raising her head and looking at me.

I took the bouquet from behind and bring forward to Ploy. At that right moment, I can't describe Ploy's reactions. She seems to look emotionless.

"Vee.....she stood from the chair while looking at the bouquet that I'm holding right now.

I kneeled and asked Ploy if she was willing to go on a date with me.

"Vee.... I don't know what to say right now. I'm shocked right now.

"Vee, you know that we're just friends perhaps co-workers. The reason why we become close in the first place is because of Mark. You two were very close, you know Mark is my best friend, so I just go with the flow that's all. Sorry if I gave you any hope but I sincerely see you as a friend. I'm sorry but I cannot accept this Vee. I'm very sorry."

"No Ploy, I'm sorry for this Ploy. I just-

"No no it's not your fault Vee, it's just I don't feel the same feelings you had towards me, Vee."

"I hope this will not ruin our friendship Ploy."

"It won't Vee, we're still the same as we were before. I got to go now it's already late. I don't know where Mark went so I excuse myself first. Take care, Vee. See you all on Monday. Bye guys." Ploy waved to us before leaving the hall.

Everything that happens just now feels like a dream, I just standing there apathetic while digesting what Ploy said just now. It hurts so much when the person you like the most rejects you.

At this point, I don't know what to do. I realised after Bar tapped my shoulder.

"Hey Vee, are you okay?" Bar asks.

"I don't know Bar, this whole thing feels new and hurtful. I don't know how to react."

"Hey rejection does happen, Vee, you should move forward," Nuea said
