Chapter 10

VEE POV

As we discussed last night, today I'm going to meet Mark's mother. We already leave our apartment early morning since the journey to Khon Kaen is quite longer. War insists on driving the car by taking turns, but I never let him drive since he just started to practice driving, he sometimes gets anxious while driving.

The journey was full of nervousness since this is the first time for me involved in meeting the family member of my partner. I have dated a few people before, but none of it goes until this progress, but for Mark, it's a different story. I have talked with Mark's mom through video calls, she is someone who is a sweet and caring person from my perspective. Eventually, I know Mark's mom will accept our relationship but still, I felt nervous for no reason.

"Vee, are you okay?" Mark asked while gently holding my hand.

"If you don't feel okay, we can go for another time once you feel ready."

"Hey, I'm okay. Don't worry about me, okay? It's just I'm kind of feeling anxious that's all." I smile back at Mark to give him assurances that I'm alright.

"My mom knows about you, so don't worry. I'm here." Mark said while smiling at me.

"I know baby. Hopes everything goes well."

As we both tangled our hands throughout the journey.

After more than four hours of drive, we finally arrived at Mark's house. As soon as I exit my car, I can see a motherly figure walking toward Mark with her open arms.

"Mark.... my son, I miss you so much." She embraces Mark while kissing his whole face.

"Mom, stop kissing my whole face. I'm not a kid anymore." He said while chuckling from the tingling sensation he gets from the kiss.

"Aww, so you not missing your mother?" She said while holding Mark's shoulders by giving disappointed look.

"I miss you so much, mom." Mark hugs his mother tightly while looking at me as I was standing behind while watching them.

"Mom... Vee" Mark said while releasing him from the hug.

"Ohh Vee, sorry I was so happy to see Mark until I did not notice you were here." She said by giving me her warmest embrace while rubbing my back.

"How's Mark? He is such a stubborn kid, how do you manage with this guy Vee?" She said looking at Mark while chuckling.

"Hahahaha, aunty he is indeed stubborn, but manageable."

"Vee? so quickly you both become best friends."

And Mom seriously? Here? Mom, at least you should invite us to enter the house." Mark frowned his eyebrows while crossing his arms.

"Aww sorry dear, I was so excited after seeing you both. Come let's get inside."

As soon as I entered Mark's house, I was mesmerized by the house atmosphere. It was the first time I felt a home vibe with vintage-touch decorations that decorate the house. I saw there were so many antics items we decorated in a glass door cupboard. From the items displayed, I can assume it must be belonging to Mark's father. I bent down to look at the items.

"This all belongs to my father. He was active in social activities. Whenever he joins any social activities, he always collects souvenirs and stores them for memory. Now we keep this as his memories." He smiled while looking at the souvenirs.

"Vee Mark gets freshen up first and eat your lunch. I'd bet you must be tired from travelling. I already prepared everything upstairs.

"Mark brings Vee to your room. I will prepare for lunch."
