Chapter 13

MARK POV

I dash up from my sleep as soon as I realize that I might be sleeping longer. I turn my back and notice Vee is not beside me.

"Shit, what is the time now."

I rise from the bed and took my phone. The time currently shows one in the afternoon. "I messed up. Vee didn't wake me up." I mumbled to myself while massaging my waist as I get pain from the wake-up impact.

I beam while thinking about last night's activity. Last night Vee was a different person, he was more gentle than usual towards me. Despite that, he kept on telling me I love you which was cute to watch him with the clinging behaviour.

As I was about to rise from the bed to take a shower, I notice there was a note stuck on the nightstand. I took the note and read it with a smile knowing how sweet my boyfriend is and seeing the painkiller on top of the nightstand while holding my waist like an old man.

It's already seven in the evening, usually, at this time we will be at home after work, but today Vee was a little late. I was sitting in the living room, watching tv while looking at the front door waiting for Vee. As I was about to lay down on the sofa, I heard the front door being open. I quickly stood up from the sofa and run to Vee to hug him.

"Baby, how's your back pain." He asked while gently massaging my waist with his both hands.

"Why you didn't wake me up? You know last week Friday I already took leave and today too. They going to deduct my salary."

"Remember I make a promise to your father that I'm going to take care of you. If you let me take leave how am I supposed to take care of you? You are spoiling me, Vee."

"Baby I know you must be in pain that's why I didn't disturb you. After taking a day off your waist pain is better right."

"Hmmm, but don't do like this next time," I said while giving a small and non-pain punch on his muscular chest.

"Alright. I get fresh up first and then we eat dinner together. Okay, baby?" He said while giving a small pinch on my cheek.

I nodded and walked to the kitchen to prepare our dinner.

After having our dinner, Vee and I watch tv. As I rested my head on Vee's chest while Vee ran his finger on my hair.

"So, what happen today in the office," I asked while my eye was still on the tv.

"Nothing much baby, just as usual."

"Really? But your face doesn't show like that. I feel like you want to say something, but you keep quiet."

Usually, Vee always be chatter during dinner time, but today he kept silent and he look distracted as thinking about something. From his facial expression, I assumed that something might happen in the office today.

I move my body and sit facing him.

"Tell me what happen today."

Vee turn himself to face me and started to tell me about the project that our company going to deal with.

"Vee, are you worried about me?" I asked by cupping his face.

"Of course Mark, they should make you be part of this project since you have been working in the company for a long time. Our company superior can negotiate with the client."

"I don't want to do this without you. How does the company expect me to do this project without you?"

"Vee look at me,"

" I'm so happy knowing you accept this offer. You should go for it"

"This is a big opportunity for our company as well as for your future."
