Silver

Sitting here in the silence
with only the sound
of my static radio
playing a sad song
as I sing along.

The song ends
a phone begins to buzz
a phone that really has no purpose
one that is only in my possession
to fill your sad, sad needs.

My phone has collected the sea
in moments no one would answer
I pleaded,
I begged,
I shouted
in hopes someone would answer.

Realizing everyone was too busy
to calm the girl in need
I looked for a way to comfort
the broken girl with a smile.

The music began to fade
and the demons inside of me
began to scream.
I stared at the shining silver
for just a moment,
taking in its beauty
before I felt ice touching
my heated body
as the pain seeps
through an open wound.

Slowly releasing those demons
from a damaged mind
tears stop
as the screaming does too,
and I realized by saving a blade
a blade has returned to me
the very exact favor.
