Ode to a Horse

28 2 1

The smell of dirt fills the air
as I stand and stare
at the beautiful,
majestic creature before me

I see them in awe
free spirited, noble, and beautiful
your mane flows in the wind
as I watch you gallop through the fields.

You touch my heart
you make all the worry go away.
Your four feet move more than a body,
you have the power to move a soul as well.

Grazing ever so gracefully,
your tail moves
like trees on a breezy spring day
with the warmth of a mid-July's heat.

The feel of your muzzle
so soft and sweet
as though I am touching a cloud.

Around you, I feel free
I know there is nothing in this world
that can not hold me.
