Chapter 16 Run!

Reo had let us out the front gates of the Academy with simple instructions find Kazume, while gathering as much information as possible. Koga and I were given a map, some money, and a receiver allowing us to communicate with the Academy. It had been a few day since then though and we were traveling in the forest when Koga suddenly stops in his tracks and turns to me.

"It's not much further so we'll camp here." Koga insists and I nod.

"Yeah, something tells me it won't be easy..." I trail off causing Koga to put on a serious expression, but then walks away and begins taking out the sleeping bags from his backpack he got in the last town we were in. "We're going to succeed, I know it." I think with a determined expression as I walk over and sit on my sleeping bag. Pulling out a few energy bars, I begin to eat one causing Koga to look over at me with a confused expression.

"Where did you get these?" Koga asks as he grabs one causing me to look away from him.

"I had them..." I trail off causing Koga to narrow his eyes at me.

"You stole them, didn't you?" Koga questions causing me to let out a sigh.

"We already used up what little money we had and I'm not gonna starve." I respond causing it to go silent for a moment. "Old habits die hard, I guess..." I think as I finish eating my energy bar, but Koga then clears his throat.

"Why are you so determined to save Kazume?" Koga finally asks causing me to turn to him.

"I don't like being told what to do." I answer causing Koga to put on a confused expression.

"What?" Koga questions and I chuckle at the look on his face.

"Before Kazume disappeared, he told me to mind my own business and he was the one that was in my business so I said screw it and decided to do whatever I wanted." I respond with a annoyed expression.

"You really are a Special Ability User." Koga grinned causing me to roll my eyes and lay down in my sleeping bag. "I wish it was just that, but Kazume told me that the same day Yo-chi gave me the lesson on Alice Shapes and for some reason I just couldn't get it out of my head that Kazume could have the fourth Alice Shape. So when Reo came to me, even though I knew he was baiting... I couldn't sit still." I think as I stared up at the stars through the dense tree leaves. However, their was suddenly a dark shadow in front of me causing me to go to struggle, but their was then something over my mouth and nose.

"Nighty, night kid." A man's voice rang out as I looked over to see a dark shadow doing the same to Koga as well. "Damn it, we let our guards down." I think as my vision goes black.

"What the hell?" I ask as I look around to see stone walls around me causing me to go over and place my hand on one to see my hand was tiny, one of a small child. "Wait this feels familiar." I think as I then back to see a large man dragging a small boy, who was struggling over to the cell I was in.

"Get in there you, Little Brat!" The big man demands as he throws the boy into the cell with me. "This dream again..." I think as the boy grabs onto the cell door.

"Let me out, bastard!" The boy shouts as the big man ignores him, while walking away causing the boy to turn to me and I stare at his angry red eyes. "This boy really looks like Kazume if he was a small child." I think as the boy kicks the ground putting on a slightly worried expression.

"Damn it!" The boy bellowed, but then looks up to see me and begins to walk over to me.

"Who are you?" I ask hearing my childish voice ring out. "Why am I having this dream again?" I wonder as the boy sat down a little bit away from me against the wall.

"You first." The boy states as he looked over at me.

"Tsubaki." I declare and he lets out a sigh.

"I'm Kazume." The boy insists and my eyes widen. "This boy really is Kazume, we've met each other before?!" I wonder as I then scoot a bit closer towards Kazume.

"Nice to meet you." I greet with a smile as I turn to him, but he doesn't turn to me.

"How did you end up in here?" Kazume asks causing my smile to drop.

"I didn't listen to my Mommy..." I trail off causing Kazume to glance over at me as he slightly inch towards me.

"Yeah, I didn't listen to my Dad." Kazume nods and I put on a worried expression.

"Were you taken by that mean man too?" question causing Kazume to slightly nod as well and I then move over till I was a foot away from him.

"Um, Kazume... Do you have a special power?" I ask causing Kazume's eyes to widen.

"You have one too?!" Kazume exclaims causing me to stand up with a determined expression.

"We can get out of here if we work together then!" I chirp as I turn to Kazume and hold my hand out to him.

"Let's escape and go back to our parents, ok?" I question causing Kazume to nod and I smile. We walk over to the cell door and watch the big guy sitting there in the chair on some kind of device.

"What are we going to do?" Kazume asks causing me to turn to him.

"I'm going to pretend I'm sick and you holler at Fatso over there as soon as he's in the cell run and don't turn back." I answer as I walk a little ways over to the middle of the cell.

"What about you?" Kazume questions and I smile.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine." I respond and then fall to the ground.

"Help, you gotta help her! SHE SUDDENLY PASSED OUT!" Kazume screams causing the Fat guy to rush over and open the cell and rush over to me.

"Hey, wake up Kid!" The man demands as he picks me up causing me to slightly open my eyes to see Kazume standing there as if hesitating.

"Run!" I shout causing Kazume to take off running causing fatso to turn, but I hold my hand up.

"Put me down." I demand causing fatso to do exactly as I said.

"What the hell?!" Fatso exclaims and I grin.

"You're under my control now." I inform as I then walk over to the outside of the cell and shut the door.

"See ya, fatso." I insist as I then begin running away. Finally making it out of the Warehouse that I had been kept in only to see Kazume.

"Hey, Kaz-" I was interrupted, while feeling a sharp pain start at my head and rush through my body causing me to sound out in pain.

"Tsubaki!" I hear Kazume call out causing me to look over, even though my vision was kinda blurry I could see red stuff around Kazume.

"It's you're turn brat!" I hear the Fatso's voice ring out as my vision clears to see him strangling Kazume.

"No, I have to help." I think as I weakly stand up from the wall I was knocked against and look down to see blood on my hand.

"Let him go!" I demand as I make a whip out of my blood coming from my head and hit the Fatso with it. He should have let go of Kazume when I told him to, but he didn't he just turned to me with a glare.

"You little bitch!" Fatso curses and I grin weakly.

"Come get me..." I trail off as my vision began to get blurry again, while fatso lets go of Kazume and rushes towards me.

"DON'T TOUCH TSUBAKI, YOU BASTARD!" Kazume bellows as my vision was covered in red and orange. I felt as if I was being burnt all over as my vision goes dark.
