No Friends X Allies

Chapter 8: Expulsion

Jeslyn, Annabelle, her friends, and I went to the office to speak with the principal.

Principal: "You know why you are here today."

All: "Yes we do."

Principal: "First we will start with Jalen so everyone else should stay outside a little bit.

They walked out and everyone but Jeslyn give me dirty looks.

Principal: "Now then. Jalen, this isn't you. You have straight A's and are awfully quiet. What happened today?"

Jalen: "I just needed to defend my honor. I found someone that I care about that isn't my family so I defended her. I maybe lost my honor by showing fear in Annabelle but I did what I could.

Principal: "That's actually very nice of you. Now sadly, I need to say that you will be suspended but only for a few days. You can come back on the day after winter break ends. We don't tolerate violence in this school but you have a light suspension only because of protecting someone. Please don't do this again. Please have a good day and I will call your parents."

Jalen: "Well then, I came prepared for that so it's fine. Have a great break."

Principal: "Thank you! I will also talk with the others."

I walk out and tell Annabelle and Jeslyn to come in and when Annabelle was about to come in, I put something in her jacket pocket. They come in and I listen from outside. A problem occurred when I couldn't listen and had to get my stuff from my locker and go home.

Minutes later, my parents came and hugged me and I left the office. I wanted intel on what happened in the situation but I had to leave. 

Mom: "Jalen! Are you ok? You don't look hurt."

Dad: "Hey. I heard what you did today. While I don't like that you got punished by the school, Congrats for standing up for yourself! I see that you have a friend or ally as you call it.

Jalen: "Thanks Mom and Dad! I'm sorry that I got in trouble. I just had to protect my pride. It's not like I got forced. I mean, Annabelle started it."

Dad: "I wanted to talk about that after we reveal two things."

Mom: "Jalen. You're going to be a big brother for TWIN GIRLS!"

Me: "Wow! Congratulations! We'll see how it goes"

Dad: "That's the spirit, son! Now how about we go to a restaurant to talk."

Me: "I don't see why not. Let's do it!"

I ride in the car with my parents while reading a book in the back seat. We talked more about the situation and how they aren't even mad but disappointed I got suspended. They were proud of me for standing up for myself and being the bigger person. For me, I tried at least. We found out that Mom has actually been 5 months pregnant and we are celebrating by eating out. 

Minutes later, I get a text on my phone from Jeslyn. It was a long text so let me read it:

"Jalen! Something really crazy happened. For context, I will keep it short. So basically I didn't get expelled and might actually be the school student president. I didn't get suspended and got no punishments. Annabelle's friends got suspended until the week after winter break. They got suspended for plotting to expel you and expose you. As for Annabelle, well she was EXPELLED. Thanks to you, I saw what you did. Before Annabelle came into the principal's office, you put a knife in her jacket pocket and walked away. Annabelle was shocked when she got expelled and threatened to stab the principal. She then started breaking down for her actions. She still believes her actions are innocent. She got expelled for previous suspensions, bad grades, bad person, and having a knife in her pocket. WELL DONE."
