"Mei-Li Chan could be an attention-seeking narcissist."This is my conclusion about her. This isn't any surprise that she was in the plotting of the Annabelle expulsion.
Today is Tuesday, following yesterday's Monday. The first day of speeches for the three Student President candidates has concluded, and the results have been rather unusual. Jeslyn currently holds the lead with 44% of the votes, followed by Alyssa with 38% and Mei-Li with 17%. Personally, I have not cast my vote yet. It's not that I am against Jeslyn, but I am uncertain if she would appreciate my support after our disagreement.
I was walking in the hallway with the three of the candidates handing out flyers to anyone that passes by. I stood still from a far distance, away from the action.
"Good morning to you Jalen."
I slowly turned my head to see this mysterious person's voice.
"It seems things are going well in this election so far."
"I would say the same, Albert. Not good for Mei-Li though."
Albert: "Yes I have noticed. Then again, she has no shot at the moment. Remember her speech?"
Mei-Li's speech was rather interesting but expected from a person who is a proclaimed narcissist.
Greetings, everyone. I'm Mei-Li Chan, but you can call me Mei. I humbly request your vote for student president. I promise to lead with excellence, ensuring no student gets left behind. My goal is to motivate and inspire everyone to achieve their full potential. Plus, I will provide support to those who struggle academically or left behind. Thank you for considering me as your candidate, and I look forward to serving you.
Jalen: "I would say that while she didn't have a bad speech, the second to last sentence really puzzled me."
Albert: "We shouldn't attract any attention. No one actually in this school knows you talk with us. Alyssa and I are considered the emos.
I was confused about why we couldn't keep talking. Then again, no one in this school thinks of me as much so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise.
I decide to keep wandering the hallways: Looking at the posters and stands. I was still puzzled by that speech. Does she really want people to succeed or fail? Guess it's time for a change of heart.
"I need to find Jeslyn."
"I'm here. Behind you."
"Man! What's with the coming from behind stuff today?"
Jeslyn: "Huh!? I didn't do much to you."
Jalen: "My bad. I was speaking with one of the candidates' friends and he approached me from behind as well."
Jeslyn: "Oh. I see. Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about something."
Jalen: "And what would that be?"
(She must want to talk about the incident at the park.)
Jeslyn: "Look. I'm sorry that we haven't talked for a few days. I wanted to just focus on myself. I didn't want distractions. Besides, I'm still disappointed about your choices."
Jalen: "I understand though. (Then again, she kinda switched up on me. She went from a person I can call a friend to backstabbing me)
"It's not like I'm really disappointed with my actions. I was more disappointed in you."
Jeslyn: "Disappointed with me?"
Jalen: "Yep."
Jeslyn: "For what though?"
Jalen: "Why did you switch up on me?"
Jeslyn: "I said earlier already."
Jalen: "Not exactly."
Jeslyn: "Jalen! What do you want me to say?"
Jalen: "I just want you to tell me why you switch up on me?"
Jeslyn: "Fine. If you want it so bad. Sure. I will tell you." (I'm honestly not sure how to tell him)
"In a way, I still don't really trust you that much at the moment. While you may be very cold-hearted, you do have the potential to be one of the most complete students in our year. While I say that, it's still in question if you'll ever change. From August to January (now), you have made slow changes but not completely. It's still in question if you will be even graduate considering the people you have to watch out for. I know that you still have a promise to me that you will protect me until graduation. I hope that's the case."
Jalen: "I see. So that's what you think of me at the moment. While that may be the case, I still will stand by my promise. I think you do have the potential to become the school president for the next two years and rebuild our school perfectly. Until then, Until then, I will remain by your side and provide you with the support you need until graduation. Moreover, I consider you a trustworthy friend, someone I can count on for assistance.
Jeslyn: "That's really sweet! I never actually thought that you could have feelings like this. I know deep down, you are a very good person."
Jalen: "Thanks. That means a lot coming from a person like you."
Jeslyn: "Well... That's all I wanted to talk about. Shall we go to class together?"
Jalen: "Sure. I would like that."
