"I'm Not Talking To Him, After All He's Put You Through. Forget About It!"
---------
After Kameron And I Finished Eating We Just Sat At The Table Talking Some More Until It Was Time To Leave.

Even After Then We Stayed In The Parking Lot Sitting On The Hood Of His Car Laughing.

I Walked Into The Mall Next To Kameron As He Stayed Looking At His Phone.

"You Know, You Should Really Watch Where Your Walking." I Told Him As He Dodged A Pole.

He Laughed, Looking Down At Me. "That's What I Got You For."

"Is It Really?" I Questioned Simple, I Knew It Wasn't But I Just Wanted To Know.

He Shook His Head, "No. You Look Good On My Side And Of Course You My Nigga- Even Though You White."

We Busted Out Laughing Together As We Went Into Foot Locker.

Finally We Left Tokyo Around Midnight And Kameron Took Me To My Car.

"You Gone Come See Me Tomorrow?" Kameron Questioned As I Stood By My Car Door.

"I Don't Know," I Told Him Honestly. "I Gotta Visit My Mom Then I Gotta Work."

A Little Sadness Swept Through His Eyes. "Damn, Well Give Me Your Number So I Can Hit You Up."

I Gave Him My Number And Then Got Into My Car. Starting It Up, I Rolled Down My Window.

Kameron Reached His Head In And Kissed My Head, "Be Safe Bonnie."

I Pulled Out Of His Parents Driveway As Kameron Stood Watching Me Leave And Headed Home.

*

The Next Morning I Woke Up To A Call From The Cancer Treatment Hospital.

When I Saw The Caller I.D Something Had Told Me Something Had Happened To My Mother.

I Answered With A Positive Mind. "This Is Bonnie."

The Other End Was Silent For A Moment. "Hi Bonnie, I'm Regan, Your Mother's Nurse. Last Night Dana Stopped Breathing, We Rushed Her Into The Car Unit And Got Her Back Normal And Now She Requested To See You, So Do You Think You Could Pay A Visit This Morning."

I Sat Up In My Bed And Wiped My Eyes, "Yes, Of Course. I'll Be There."

"Okay Sounds Good. See You In A Little Bit." Nurse Regan Spoke, Getting Ready To Hang Up. "Sorry For The Bother."

I Hung Up The Phone And Swung My Covers From My Body, Getting Up And Trudging To The Shower.

Kameron Burped Loudly At The Dinner Table Before My Parents Eyed Him Down.

My Mother Sat Down Her Fork Lightly, "Kameron No Burping At The Dinner-"

I Burped Interrupting Her As I Tried To Hold In My Laugh. Everyone At The Dinner Table Exchanged Glances Before We All Shared A Laugh.

After The Table Got Silent I Looked At Kameron As He Smiled And Winked At Me.

"I Never Understood You Guys Relationship." My Father Spoke, Looking Between Kameron And I.

"We Don't Want To Complicate Things." Kameron Said, Kissing My Cheek.

"Yeah," I Added, "So We're Just Bestfriends."

"With Benefits." Kameron Mumbled So My Parents Wouldn't Hear.

I Elbowed Him In The Stomach As We Continued Eating.

I Made A Sharp Right Turn Into The Hospital Parking Lot And Parked.

"I'm So Crooked," I Told Myself, Shrugging My Shoulders, "Oh Well."

I Grabbed My Purse, Stepping Out The Car, Locking My Doors. I Walked Inside To Cold Building Not Even Bothering To Sign In.

I Walked Into My Mother's Usual Room Expecting Her To Be Laying Down But She Wasn't There.

Just As Quick As I Walked Inside I Walked Right Back Out, Stopping A Nurse. "Excuse Me, Where's My Mother? Dana Gray."

She Looked Around Curiously, "I'll Go Ask For You."

"Yes Please, Thank You." I Spoke Nicely, Waiting By The Door As She Walked Away.

A Few Minutes Later She Came Back With A Clipboard And A Few Papers.

"What's This?" I Asked The Women As She Handed Me What She Had In Her Hands.

"The Hospital Is Wanting To Transport Your Mother To A Different Location For Better Treatment. It's Only About Three Hundred Thousand Miles Away But I Guarantee Her Treatments Will Be Better." She Explained.

I Smiled Nicely, Shaking My Head. "No. Absolutely Not. Here's Your Papers Back, Where's My Mother?"

She Grabbed The Clip Board Back. "Ms. Gray Please Just-"

I Held Up My Hand, Stopping Her Sentence. "My Mother?"

"Last Floor." She Said Sighing, "Room 624."

I Walked Passed Her Heading To The Elevator. I Did Want To Get My Mother Better Treatment But I Didn't Want To Send Her Far Away From Me.

I Couldn't Travel Thousands Of Miles Everyday To See Her And I Had To Work To Even Get Her Those Treatments.

I Walked Down The Hall Looking For Her Room Until I Finally Found It. Entering, I Saw My Mother, Sleeping.

I Quietly Took A Chair And Moved It Beside Her Bed. She Awoke, Smiling At Me. It Was Something Different About Her This Time.

"I Feel It Coming." She Spoke Softly. "It's Near."

"What Do You Mean You Feel It Coming?" I Asked Her, "What's Near?"

I Think I Knew What She Meant, But I Didn't Want It To Be True And I Didn't Want To Face Reality.

"Don't Stress Bonnie. Your Father Just Left, He Wanted To Talk.... To You."

"I'm Not Talking To Him. After All He's Put You Through. Forget About It!" I Told Her, Seriously.

"Bonnie, He's Still Your Father! Now If I Tell You To Talk To Him The Damn It Your Gonna Talk To Him!" She Screamed Back, Startling Me. "I'm Near My Death Bonnie, You Need Your Father."
