Y/N POV

"Auntie Y/N!"

Grinning, I lifted the five-year-old off the floor and settled her on my hip before poking her in the stomach, earning myself a few giggles. "How ya doing, little troublemaker? Are you ready for our beach day?"

Rose nodded enthusiastically, leaning out of my grip just far enough to shout at her mother across the apartment. "MOMMY! Did you bring my bucket and shovel?!"

Scarlett appeared around the corner, pushing her sunglasses up to rest on the top of her head as she rolled her eyes. "Inside voice please, Rose. And yes, you wouldn't have let me forget them if I tried."

The child in my arms wriggled a few times, so I gently placed her back on the floor, chuckling as she darted off to get the prodigal bucket in question. Lizzie and I had decided to invite the whole lot of our friends to our beach day, for one last outing together before she left for Atlanta. Scarlett, Colin, and Rose had opted to carpool with us (since Rose literally begged to ride with us the entire time I was on the phone with Scarlett last night), and the rest were planning on meeting us at the beach in a bit. Sky and Noah were bringing the boys, and Oliver had promised that Leon would be there despite his hate for the sand. Scar and Liz even managed to get a few of the Marvel people to come out. A perfect little blend of everyone.

I'm almost certain that today was going to be nothing but pure insanity, and I was so looking forward to it.

"Where's Liz?"

Cocking an eyebrow, I watched as Scarlett glanced around the empty living room before her attention shifted to me. "What? Am I not good enough?"

"Nope."

After landing a playful punch to the blonde's shoulder, I returned to the task Lizzie had given me before Rose literally launched herself at me upon her arrival, packing our beach bag with the essential things. "Jerk. She's getting dressed."

Without another word Scarlett was off in the direction of my bedroom, passing by Colin and Rose as they entered the living room, the latter who was proudly holding up her pink bucket out towards me. "Look, Auntie Y/N!"

"I see, munchkin! I wish I had a bucket as cool as that."

The five-year-old glanced down at her bucket before looking back up at me. "You can borrow mine if you want."

Leaning down so I was more or less at her level, I smiled as she handed over the bucket, her adorableness just too much at the moment. "Thank you, munchkin. How about we use it together and make the biggest- no the coolest sandcastle L.A. has ever seen?"

Rose's eyes widened slightly, her head nodding so hard I was genuinely afraid she was going to fall forwards from the sheer force she was using. "Yes, yes, yes! Can Aunt Lizzie help?"

Standing back up to my full height, I handed the pink bucket back over to her as I smiled a little wider. "I'm sure she'd love to help us, kiddo. She's in my bedroom with your mom. How about you go ask her?"

I watched as the child, once again, darted off making sure to call after her to knock first before entering before turning my attention to Colin, who was standing rather awkwardly in the doorway of my living room. He was shifting from one foot to the other, his eyes glued to the floor.

Weird.

"What's up with you?"

His eyes darted around for a split second, causing me to become more confused before he scooted closer and pulled something out of his pocket. I stared down at the small, square box he was holding out to me before glancing back up at him. Wondering if this is what I thought it was, I eyed Colin again for a few seconds before gently opening the box to reveal a ring, my mouth dropping open slightly at the sight of the jewel set on the simple band. "Holy shit!"
