The next day when Maham woke up. She was glowing. Her first morning as a wife and after losing her innocence to her lawful and loving husband."You're awake," he smiled, taking a sip from his coffee. Maham smiled and nodded pulling the blanket to cover herself.
"Apki chai," he said, putting a tea cup beside her on the side table. He sat in front of her, pressing a kiss to her lips.
(Your tea.)"I loved our time together. Except for everything horrible, I am so grateful to be your first," he said, and her smile faltered.
She felt ashamed that he wasn't her first male touch.
"Aur... yeh nishaan. Maham, woh meri maa hai. Woh achi aurat hain... lekin kabhi kabhi ghussa kar jati hain. Mai unke ghussa ko support nahi kar raha. Magar... meri majburi bhi samjho," he said, her smile slowly dropped.
(And... these marks. Maham, she's my mother. She's a good woman... but sometimes her anger gets the best of her. I am not supporting her anger. But... understand my compulsion.)Maham nodded, gulping the lump in her throat. He smiled and kissed her before walking away, leaving her with a heavy heart.

2 MONTHS LATER.
━━━━━━━
These two months had to be the most hectic and terrible for Maham. After her wedding day, she received a week of respect. But after that everyone went back to the old ways. Aaima despised her. Shahnaz was threatening her continuously.
She was scared to go into the kitchen because she was afraid Shahnaz was going to be there. She didn't eat breakfast out of fear as Zayan also started going to work.
She was sitting in her room, Zayan had just left. She was wearing a simple white dress that was her mother's. Her stomach was growling in hunger but she suppressed it and decided that she would eat when Zayan came.
Aaima walked into the room and stared at her -- a cold emotionless look in her eyes. When Maham noticed she stood up.
"Aaima," She spoke, "aao bheto,"
(Come sit.)"Wah, ab hukum bhi chalane aagayein hain?" Aaima asked, Maham's face dropped and she shook her head in confusion.
(Wow, you also know how to pass orders?)"Aesa kya hogaya, Aaima, mai toh tumhe pass bhetna ka keh rahi thi," Maham said before her eyes dropped at Aaima's hand.
(What happened, Aaima, I was only telling you to sit down.)Maham gasped and stepped forward, "Aaima, tumhara toh khoon beh raha hai," She said, taking Aaima's bandaged hand and looking at the blood growing on the white cloth.
(Aaima, you're bleeding.)Aaima snatched her hand away and pushed Maham, "Han, beh raha hai. Aur tumhari waja se. Tum janti thi mai Zayan se Mohabbat karti hoon! Tum janti thi keh maine usse shaadi ke khwab dekhe the! Tumhe koi aur nahi mila?! Mere bhai se karleti, Zayan se hi kyun?!" She yelled.
(Yeah, I am. And because of you. You knew I was in love with Zayan! You knew I was dreaming of marrying him! You didn't find anyone else?! You could've married my brother, why Zayan?!)"Aaima, yeh shaadi Allah ki razamandi se hui hai," Maham said.
(Aaima, this marriage happened because of Allah's willingness.)"Apni chalakiyan ko Allah ki razamandi ka naam mat do, Maham!" Aaima yelled, stepping forward.
(Do not name your cunningness God's willingness, Maham!)"Tayi ammi sahi kehti thi. Tum apni maa ki beti ho aur ik din unki tarah banogi! Mai janti hoon tumne usse bhehkaya hoga! War- warna mera Zayan toh hamesha se sirf mujhe dekhta tha," Aaima said, pushing everything off of her vanity making the churiyan Zayan gave her shatter and tears gather in Maham's eyes.
(Older mom was right. You are your mother's daughter and one day you will be like her! I know you seduced him! Be- because my Zayan wouldn't look at anyone except for me,)"Tum- tumhara Zayan ab mera shohar hai," Maham said and that angered Aaima. She stepped forward and gripped her face in a tight painful grip.
(You- your Zayan is now my husband,)"Ik din- ik din mai bhi tumhe khoon keh aanson rolaongi, Maham. Ik din mai bhi tumhe aesa dhuk dongi keh tumhare haath mai ik kanch ka tukra hoga jis se tum apni nase kato gi. Aur Zayan waha pe nahi hoga tumhe bachane. Kyun keh woh mere kamre mai hoga aur mera shohar hoga," Aaima said, her voice harsh and dangerous as tears ran down Maham's face.
(One day- one day I will make you cry tears of blood too, Maham. One day I will give you so much pain that you will have a piece of glass in your hand and you'll use it to slit your wrists. And Zayan won't be there to help you. Because he will be in my room and be my husband.)"Aaima!" A deep masculine voice yelled. They looked at the door and saw Zayan who had rage filled eyes. Aaima pushed her away and she fell on the bed. She stared, blankly at Zayan. Maham was trembling. She shakily sat up, tears running down her face still.
Zayan walked towards Aaims and gripped her arm tightly. "Ab se agar Maham ko haath bhi lagaya na. Toh mujhse bura koi nahi hoga," He threatened before dragging her to the door.
(If you ever touch Maham again. Then no one will be worse than me.)Aaima glared at him with tears and he closed the door. He felt out a sigh before turning to look at Maham's trembling figure.
"Pata nahi kya hogaya tha usse," Maham said, standing up as if defending Aaima, "university mai larai hogayi hogi." She said, bending down to pick everything.
(I don't know what happened to her. Maybe she had a fight in university.)Zayan stared at her in disbelief and in slight anger before walking towards her and grabbing her arm and pulling her to stand up. He stepped closer, their bodies touching and he moved his hand to her nape.
"Uska sirf dimagh kharab hai. Usko defend mat karo," He said, looking down at her angirly. She gulped before slowly nodding. His eyes softened and he smiled a bit.
(She is only out of her mind. Do not defend her.)He bent to her level and then kissed her. She kissed back still trembling as her hangs clutched his shirt and he slowly moved them towards the bed.
