5 YEARS LATER:Aydin watched as the two important ladies of his life, shouted the lyrics of a song and danced funnily with a giant pure smile on his face as he occasionally laughed.
" Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance. "Maham was as happy as she had ever been in her entire life. She found her Sukoon. Her peace. This was her peaceful life. Living in a house she owned In London, with her strength she named Aydin and danced in the kitchen singing loudly and awfully with Aya while cooking dinner.
She had come a long way from being locked in a dark storage room and dreaming of living a peaceful life with friends to living it.
" So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you. "She had healed. She didn't let her past bother her anymore.
" Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken. " Maham sang with Aya, dancing but she stumbled and Aya held her quickly. The three stayed silent before bursting into laughter.Maham looked at Aydin as he laughed. His laughter was so pure and innocent, that Maham prayed to always hear it. To never let this laughter die into sadness. She could never imagine her son going through something she did.
Maham walked towards and showered his face with kisses, making him giggle uncontrollably. Aya smiled and recorded them. Aya was a YouTuber. She had a filmmaking degree and she used it to make videos about her life, including Maham and Aydin because Aya was -- almost -- always with them. She has ten thousand and above subscribers.
Maham had a degree in literature. She fell in love with books back in Hunza when she saw the collection Aya had. She read all of them in a year and had made up her mind to study English literature.
She was an English teacher in a private school. Her salary was a generous amount. Which covered all her bills and grocery shopping and she had money left for other things like her personal shopping and Aydin's clothes and toys. She didn't need to pay Aydin's fees as he studied in the same school.
That was something Maham was grateful about because the school she taught in was expensive so if she had to pay his fees then her salary would be finished in a week.
"Mama, what are we eating?" Aydin asked a hint of a soft English accent in his tone that he adapted from his classmates.
"Chicken kofta, love," Maham answered with a smile.
"I thought we were having fish and chips," He said.
"Angrez ki aulaad," Maham said, jokingly, making him give her a toothy smile that made his eyes close.
(Child of Englishman.)"You're half British, Maham," Aya reminded.
"But I am aware of my Pakistani roots. he doesn't know Urdu that much except for 'Angrez ki aulaad'. Aydin, what does 'chappal' mean?" Maham said before looking at Aydin and asking.
"Uhh, car!" Aydin answered and Maham gave Aya a knowing look.
"But it is not his fault. It's mine. I didn't speak Urdu to him from the start," Maham sighed, "but I didn't want to confuse him. Being bilingual is confusing. You add Urdu words into English sentences and English words in Urdu sentences."
Aya chuckled before looking into the camera, "or maybe you're just stupid, Maha," Aya said making Maham slap her arm.
"Kutti," Maham said and Aya laughed.
(Bitch.)━━━━━━━
Author's note:guys note the parallels, Maham called Zayan "Angrez" when he came to Pakistan and now she calls Aydin "Angrez ka bacha"
