Aya did her entry, the nikkah happened and the lights went bright again. Aydin went to play with other kids as Maham talked with guests.

Everything seemed to be going well except her gut was telling her something was about to happen. She just ahd that mysterious feeling that something might happen in the future.

But she pushed it away and continued talking or helping in the wedding. She excused herself to go to the bridal room. She went inside and fixed her dupatta before stepping out.

She saw Raees standing by a table, far from her, talking to somebody and when she looked at that somebody, her breath hitched. Her heart started racing and she stopped breathing. Zayan.

She felt her heart dropped to her stomach and she felt dizzy. He was standing in front of her, talking to her best friend's husband. And not even in the way that they just met.

They looked like they've known each other for years. Raees noticed her and smiled, waving at her for her to come over and Zayan looks at her as well.

A small smirked came to his lips as their eyes met but Maham could only feel thunder in her mind. She knew he knew that she would be here. Because he wouldn't have given her that knowing smirk.

She backed away and went back inside the bridal room, locking the door. She breathed heavily and uneven as she sat on the couch, patting her chest.

She couldn't believe it. It had been 5 years since she left. She had told herself that she wouldn't hide. She wouldn't be scared. But here she was, trying to calm her racing heart.

No, no. She was not going to hide. She's going to get out there and pretend he doesn't exist. She was not going to be scared of him. He means nothing to her.

She left the room after comforting herself and walked to the front to talk to Aya, who was standing with her cousins when Raees stopped her.

"Maham, kya howa? Tabiyat toh theek hai na?" Raees asked.
(Maham, what happened? Are you okay?)

"Haan, yaar, woh bas ik dam se chakkar aane lage," Maham said and Raees nodded.
(Yes, I just got dizzy.)

"Ab theek ho na?" He asked, like a brother. Maham smiled and nodded.
(You're okay, now?)

"Khair," he said and looked around before calling, "Zayan!" Maham tensed up but didn't let it show.

Zayan looked them as he stopped talking to his old friends and then moved towards them. He wanted to see how Maham would react. Would she act as if she knows me? Would she act like she doesn't? Or would she run away like the thing she's good at?

One step closer to ruining and healing Maham. They were both the best friends of the bride and the groom. They were going to see each other at parties and events.

And if he goes to her house without his disguise, he could probably lie and say that he got her address by Raees and not his stalking skills.

"Yeh mera University ka dost tha. Zayan Agha," Raees introduced. Maham put up a fake smiled.
(He used to be my university friend. Zayan Agha.)

"Hi, I'm Maham Wright," she said.

"Janta hoon," he said, making her heart pound again. "Raees ne bataya tha,"
(I know. Raees told me.)

She smiled again -- a fake one -- and nodded, just as Aydin ran to her and hugged her legs.

"This is Aydin. My son," Maham introduced, with a hint of mocking in her tone at him as she picked up Aydin.

"Aydin, this is Raees' uncle's friend, Zayan uncle," Maham said as Aya walked towards them.

Aydin waved at him. Zayan smiled and waved back before sending a glare towards Maham. Aya rested a hand on Maham's back informing her presence.

'Tumhe bhi uski shaqs se pyaar karna tha jiska dost Zayan ho?' Maham thought

Aya greeted Zayan while Maham stared at the floor. "I should go home," She told Aya.

"What? No, dude, hamari dance performance abhi baaki hai," Aya said, holding her hand not wanting her to go.
(Our dance performance is still pending.)

"Kal job par bhi jana hai. Aydin ka bhi school hai aur das baj rahe hain," Maham said.
(I have to go to work tomorrow. Aydin also has school and its ten pm.)

"Koi baat nahi, ham abhi dance performance karlenge," Aya said.
(Its okay we'll do it now.)

"Arey, Aya-" Maham went to refuse but Aya dragged her away, ordering the DJ to turn on the music.

Maham set down Aydin who ran towards Raees to sit next to him on the couch as Maham and Aya stood on the dance floor with her cousins.

'He isn't there. He doesn't exist.' Maham chanted in her mind like an affirmation as the music started and they started dancing.
