Today was an off day for the two, so Maham had decided to clean and organize her house. Aydin was sitting on the couch watching cartoons on the television as Maham was setting up the table.

She sat down next to Aydin after she was done. She hadn't seen her stalker since that day. And it had been a week. She was grateful. What happened that night had seriously shaken her up. She flinched when the door burst open and Aya ran inside.

"You will not believe what happened," Aya said.

"What... happened?" Maham asked, slowly.

Aya stared at her and then smiled, showing her left hand. A yell escaped Maham as she stood up. "You're engaged!" Maham yelled.

"I'm engaged!" Aya yelled and then they hugged, jumping around.

Maham had never been to a wedding -- except her own wedding which she regretted terribly -- so she was beyond happy and excited now that her best friend and soul sister was getting married.

They both plan what they are going to do. They had also bought tickets for her family living in Pakistan. There is so much to do; shopping, the guest list, buffet, cuisine, more shopping, dance practices, and booking the wedding hall.

━━━━━━━

A month had passed and it had to be the most hectic month for Maham. She had to take care of Aydin, she had to go to work, grade tests, and schedule her class all while having to go shopping with Aya and her family

But after many shopping trips and Aya's breakdown over pimples, the wedding day finally came. Maham was wearing a white dress with a red dupatta and Aya was wearing a pastel bridal dress. Aydin was white shalwar kameez with a beige vest coast.

When Maham entered the hall, the cousins who hadn't been able to meet her before rushed to her, greeting her with compliments before gushing over how big Aydin had gotten but for Maham, he would always be the baby he was.

She made a quick prayer for evil eye to be off of him as she walked inside the bridal room to meet Aya, who was alone and nervous.

"Dar lag raha hai. Raees abhi toh acha hai lekin shaadi ke baad toh har mard badal jata hai," AYa said.
(I feel scared. Raees is good now but after marriage, every man changes.)

"Aesa nahi hoga. Maine dekha hai Raees bohut pyaar karta hai tumse," Maham said, putting Aydin in her lap as she sat down on the couch next to her.
(It is not like that. I have seen Raees loves you a lot.)

"Karta toh tumhara shohar bhi tha tumse lekin end mai, woh bhi toh apni ammi ke samne andha hogaya," Aya said, annoyed.
(Your husband loved you too but in the end, he became blind in front of his mother.)

Maham looked at the floor, her jaw pressing against Aydin's head. "Kuch mard aese hi hote hain, Aya. Kamzor, darpok, aur magroor. Unki anaa bohut bari hoti hai. Lekin Raees aesa nahi hai. Jab bhi tumlogon ka breakup hamesha tumhare dramatics ki waja se lekin raees kabhi peeche nahi hata. Usne kabhi nahi kaha keh woh tumhe tab tak maaf nahi karega jab tak tum usse maafi na mango," She said.

(Some men are that way. Weak, cowardly, and egotistical. Their ego is very big. But Raees isn't like that. Whenever you guys broke up it was always because of your dramatics but Raees never backed away. He never said that he wouldn't forgive you until you apologized.)

"Aur jaha tak rahi Mohabbat ki. Toh mera shohar mujshe Mohabbat nahi karta tha. Mai toh bas unki hawas thi. Woh mujhe property ki tarah claim karna chahte the. Aur jab unhe laga ke kisi aur mard ne unki property ko trespass kara hai toh us property ko tanha chor diya," Maham spoke with firmness in her tone despite her glossy eyes.

(And if we're talking about love. Then my husband didn't love me. I was his lust. He wanted to claim me like a property and when he thought some other man trespassed that property, he abandoned that property.)

She blinked her tears away and looked at Aya, putting a hand under her chin, "Tum bohut lucky ho keh tumhe Raees jaisa amrd mila hai. Mere husband jaisa nahi. Ab overthinking band karo, baraat aane wali hi hogi," She said.
(You are very lucky you have a main like Raees. And not like mine. Now stop overthinking, the groom side must come here any time.)

And just as she said that they heard noises coming from outside, indicating that they were here.
