Zayaan stared at the papers in his hands. It was the papers Maham had thrown at him the night she left him, her ultrasound documents. He stared at the date the child was conceived.

Aydin was his son. He was his legitimate son. Zayaan set the papers aside and took his head into his hands, frustrated at himself. How could he have been so stupid? He spent years being in a conflict about whether Aydin was his child or not when everything was in front of his eyes.

Zayaan groaned hitting his head before grabbing the half whiskey-filled glass and throwing it at the wall.

These five years were the worst of his life. He got into alcoholism, the business started falling apart, and his mother died from a heart attack. After that, his sister got married to her boyfriend from university and he moved to London forever.

His phone started ringing from the table and he stood up, slowly walking towards it. He stared at his sister's contact name before receiving it.

"Kya hua?" He asked, uninterest when he heard his sister's cries, and his eyes widened, "Zafeera, kya hua hai?"
(What happened? Zafeera, what has happened?)

"Bhai- bhai. Abdul- wohi Abdul jisne apko video bheji thi woh Ali ka dost ka hai, bhai! Aur- aur aaj woh ghar aaya tha toh usne Ali ke samne mujhe sab sach bata diya. Bhai, Abdul ik digital artist hai, ik editor. Woh video nakli thi bhai Abdul ne khud kaha hai. Woh keh raha tha ke usse ghussa aaya tha jab Maham ne uske upar chai pehki. Woh Aaima ko pasand karta tha lekin Maham ne sab kuch bigar diya toh badle ke liye usne woh video banayi," Zafeera cried, Zayaan's blood running cold and his heartbeat stopping.

(Abdul- that same Abdul who sent you that video is Ali's friend! And- and he came today and he told me the truth in front of Ali. Abdul is a digital artist, an editor. That video was fake and Abdul said it himself. He said that he was angry when Maham threw tea at him. He liked Aaima but Maham had ruined everything so he made that video of revenge.)

"Bhai, Maham- Maham ke saath bohut bura hua hai. Usne bataya ke usne Maham ke saath zabardasti kari thi aur apne doston ko dikhane ke liye video bhi banayi thi ik. Aur ussi video ki wajah se usne woh- woh ghatiya video banayi joh usne apko bheji!" She told while crying as guilt filled her up.

(Maham- Maham went through a lot. He told us that he harassed Maham and made a video to show his friends. And because of that video, he was able to make that- that disgusting video he sent to you.)

Zayaan's hearing had faded. He stared at the television as the memories of that day flashed in his mind. Tears blurring his vision.

"Zayan, tum toh yaqeen nahi karte ke yeh sach hai, haina? Tum jante ho mai aesi larki nahi hoon. Woh- us video mai main nahi hoon, Zayan, tum mujhpe yaqeen karte ho na?" Maham's vulnerable and broken tone filled his ears.
(Zayan, you don't believe that is true, right? You know I am not that type of girl. That- It's not me in that video, Zayan, you believe me, right?)

He remembered what he said to her that night. He remembered watching as she realized that her own husband did not believe her.

"Kese na karo, Maham?" His cold voice thundered in his mind and he dropped the phone on the table.
(How can I not, Maham?)

He turned around and ran out of the room. He grabbed the car keys and rushed to his car before driving away despite the fact that he was drinking.

━━━━━━━

Aydin and Maham had gone grocery shopping. Maham parked her car and got out of the car with Aydin. She handed him a light paper bag before grabbing the other two heavy ones. They walked towards the house gate.

"And then the teacher started scolding him and he started crying," Aydin told her about her day and Maham gasped, acting.

"She shouldn't have scolded him. Did the teacher scold you?" Maham asked, looking at Aydin who quickly shook his head.

"No, mama, I'm a good boy so she doesn't scold me," He smiled, widely making her chuckle.

"Mama?" Aydin called out.

"Yes?" She asked.

"Whose car is that?" He asked, pointing at a black Range Rover SUV.

Maham looked at where he was looking before clenching her jaw, angrily. She had two thoughts on who it could be. Zaviar or her stalker. Or both.

"Aydin, go inside," She said and kept the grocery bags aside while Aydin went inside. She stormed towards the car and Zayaan noticing her coming towards him got out of the car as well.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" She asked, angrily as she looked up at him.

"Maham, I needed to talk to you," He spoke.

"Talk about what? Talk about how I am the bad guy and you're the victim? Talk about how I am a whore and cheated on you? Talk about whether Aydin is your child or not?" She asked.

"I know you didn't cheat on me, Maham! I- I know the truth now," He said, embarrassed. He was so embarrassed. He should've thought this through.

She stared at him, her brows narrowed. "You know the truth now?" She repeated.

"So what, Zayaan? I should be happy that you finally fucking believe me? I should be happy that only after 5 years you finally know I am a loyal person?" She asked, sarcastically. He looked down, ashamed of himself, his heart drowning in sadness.

"God, you're really pathetic, Zayaan," She said and walked away.
