Maham sat on the chair, checking every test and checking her schedule. She was wearing her mother's saari. She always took out the clothing and wore it for closure to her mother and culture while she did her work or had her alone time.Aydin was fast asleep in his room and Maham was in her study. She let out a sigh and leaned back in her seat.
She was content with her life. She felt as if she had no regrets left. She had a job, she was a mother, she had a friend, and she had a reason to live for. Her Aydin. Her strength.
She used to regret ever marrying Zayan but she realised if she hadn't married him then she would have got her Aydin.
She also regrets leaving pakistan without getting a divorce. She was always tied to him. Even in her passport it was Maham Zayan Agha.
She closed her eyes, getting rid of his thoughts out of her mind. She stood up after finishing her work and went into Aydin's room.
She sat on the bed beside him, smiling as he laid on his stomach sleeping with his mouth open. She played with his hair, muttering a dua of safety before blowing over him.
She kissed his head before standing and quietly leaving. She went to her room and changed out of the saree into her pajamas.
She grabbed a face mask and applied it all over her face before grabbing her book and walking into the balcony. She grabbed her glass of water.
She sipped the water while reading her book. It was a self-help book. Those self-help books and fiction books helped her a lot.
Self-help books helped her reinvent herself and fictional books helped her indulge in fantasies when things got too rough.
When her mask dried and she read quite a few chapters. She stood up and washed her mask before doing her skincare.
She laid in bed with a content sigh and laid down on the bed, pulling the duvet to her chest and turning off the lamp.
With a productive and joyful day, she fell asleep and woke in dreamland.

She woke up for Fajr around 5 am. She got out of bed, performed wudu before praying Fajr. She thanked Allah for giving her another chance in life and to make it better.
She stood up and decided to get ready for her day. She did her skincare, read her book some more and then she went to wake Aydin.
"Aydie?" She called out his nickname, quietly, sitting on the single bed.
He didn't wake up. She tried for a couple of times and then he finally woke up. He blinked and looked up at her with hazel brown eyes. Like his father's.
"Mommy?" He called, quietly, Maham smiled. He sat up and rubbed his eyes to clear his vision. Maham chuckled and grabbed his glasses before putting it on.
She kissed his cheek before standing up and raising her hands. He hugged her and wrapped his tiny legs around her torso.
She got him ready into his uniform before taking him downstairs. She set him down on the chair by the dining table before going into the kitchen.
She prepared breakfast for them tea for herself and chocolate for him. She went outside and they had breakfast while he told her about what he was going to do in school.
After they were done, she gave him her phone while she ran upstairs to get dressed. She wore a black skirt, a white shirt, and a white jacket.
"Wow, Maham Charles Wright, you look beautiful," she said to herself after applying natural makeup. She blew a kiss to herself before grabbing her bag and books.
She went to Aydin's room and grabbed his already packed backpack and going downstairs.
He grabbed his bag and wore it as she kept her phone jn her bag.
"I don't have time to make your lunch so just come to me in lunch break, I'll buy you something, okay?" She asked and he nodded staring up at her.
They went outside to her car. Maham kept her stuff in the backseat and picked Aydin up to put him in the toddler car seat and she buckled him up.
She kissed his nose before going to sit in the driver's seat and driving to her school.
