I jolted awake.

My dreams were filled with blue flames, sobs, and breaking glass.

I grunted and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and swung my stiff legs over the side of my bed. My back popped three times before I stood up on my sore feet.

I yawned while I tiredly walked to the kitchen for breakfast before I left. As I passed my brothers room, I was surprised to see his already up and shoving things into his backpack and suitcase.

"Oh, you're leaving?" I spoke.

"Yep. My test is tomorrow and I wanted to be there a day earlier." Natsuo replied without looking up.

I smiled and grabbed a stack of books he had on his dresser and carried them over to another suitcase as I grabbed one and started setting them into the bag.

"I could drive you so you don't have to take the bus."

"Nah. I don't want you to be late, I'm fine."

"I'll tell Hawks I'm busy. Plus we're partners so I don't have to answer to him." I scoffed.

"Then I'd like a ride. Thanks sis." He said before grunting trying to get a backpack to sip shut.

I quickly packed up the remaining books and turned to get dressed.

I dressed simply, a blue shirt with a gray windbreaker over. And black skinny jeans with converses. This time I made sure I had my cigarettes. Before I left, I quickly made my bed so it will stop bothering me that it wasn't.

I brushed my teeth and hair before walking back out to my brother. I grabbed the suitcase while he sling his two backpacks over both shoulders. "Ready to go?"

He nodded. "I'll miss Flynn Rider though." He said whistfully.

"I'm sure he'll miss you too." I giggled.

"I wish my girlfriend wasn't allergic to dogs." He sighed.

"That reminds me: make sure you wash all your clothes so she doesn't get a reaction." I ordered.

"I'd never let her have a reaction. Don't worry." He reassured me.

We struggled out my apartment and down the stairs to the ground. We slowly made progress until we reached my car. I popped the trunk and Natsuo threw both of his backpacks in and grabbed the suitcase after.

I opened the door and shut it, starting the engine. While we were on the road, I slightly rolled the window down and lit a cigarette.

"You know I wish you wouldn't do that." Natsuo said stiffly. "Fuyumi too."

I sighed and blew out the smoke. "I'm sorry. I really am. But you know I'm trying."

"Yeah, I know."

We drove quiet for a few more minutes until I ashed my cigar. "So, did Fuyumi let you know anything about Shoto?"

"The only thing he let her know was that he passed the written exam. She's not sure if he's nervous or not. I mean, his first day of school is today."

I hummed and drummed the fingers on the steering wheel. "Do you think I should text him after I get done working today?"

Natsuo chuckled. "I already texted him yesterday. But you know Shoto, left me unread."

"Ugh. That boy is going to be the death of me." I groaned.

"All that bastards fault." Natsuo hissed hatefully.

I didn't have to ask who he was talking about, I knew too. "I wish dad wasn't so hard on him."

"I don't know why you spend so much time at his agency. I got it when you were dating Kido, but you guys are through and you still choose to go there."
