This chapter is gonna be... a bit unsettling. Plenty of gore.
Eddie trailed through the forest, Nancy and Robin following behind him. It was like this was some sick game of follow the leader.
The wet grass and bracken was trampled beneath Eddie's heavy rubber boots.
He held a finger to his mouth, as if to signal towards Nancy and robin to be silent.
They heard snuffling and digging below. It made their heart ache, watching their friend acting like a wild animal. With no control over his actions.
His sinister, gory, actions.
Eddie and Nancy drew their guns, while Robin slowly grasped her sharp hunting knife.
A wolf dug below, before pelting after a small rodent.
It was only now, that they realized the wolf had a Grey pelt.
It wasn't Steve's Familiar brown fur. This was a normal wild animal.
"Dammit," Eddie breathed the words. "We lost steve."
He glanced around, putting his powers to use.
He pointed a finger back to the ravine where they had seen the monster they were after, and the mess of trees and earth he left behind. They followed the destruction he caused, nearly army crawling, as to keep silent.
A low growl sounded in front of them.
A small cave lay in a ravine, they figured Steve was hiding there. They dared not go into the cave, or the ravine. They didn't want to be trapped anywhere near the monster Steve was.
A loud screech gave Eddie goosebumps.
Something- no someone, had let out that horrible sound.
The trio rushed towards the source, and found another human body. Fresh werewolf scent all around the area.
Steve had been here a few seconds ago.
It was a messy kill, a young woman.
She wore a small jacket, and makeup mixed with blood dripping down her face stained the ground where it fell. A large gash in her stomach exposed her stomach, her entrails spilling out onto the soft bracken. It was quite the gory scene.
"Oh god... this is worse than we thought."
Nancy and Robin looked as if they were going to hurl, Eddie just stared in discomfort, disgust, and curiosity. Her entrails were spread, and it looked as if something had tried to drag them out of her body.
Eddie put a hand over his mouth, tears welling, threatening to run freely down his face.
The body was so disfigured, he didn't recognize her. He couldn't.
He shook his head. "Let's...go." He managed to choke out.
They continued, trying to block that gory image from their eyes.
