Crickets ruttled in the bushes as I walked along the woods in search for shelter just to escape the threatening rainfall, I found myself standing before a very dark enclosure. It was obviously a thicket.
This would work better for my safety for now and when the rain slowed down, I'd continue my strides uphill.
It was my joy finding this place.
Hope manifested.
And no sooner had I enterred into the thicket than the rain started to pour.
What a relief.
And deep down Lue would be proud of my recent progress.
I could barely read my surroundings as I found refuge but crickets were less of my worries now. Atleast I had something over my head.
Luckily due to the inconsistent thunderstorms that had provided abit of some light from outside, I surveyed my surroundings. The area was as neat as brode day light if your to rate, rain drops barely seeped to the surface or ground of the shelter.
The twigs over my head we're higher above that nothing could interfere my temporal comfortability and further more, it was cleared off of any dead leaves.
Someone definitely lived here.
My heart started racing. What if this person was within visibility and could trace my tracks back home but I was less of any will power to fight, coming to think of it. So I stood still as a robot wishing I could somehow be wrong.
It was a horrible feeling.
Then suddenly I felt a sharp pain pierce through my toe. Oh crap. I fell earlier on, recalling. This hasn't crossed my mind for the last two hours of my run.
Nevertheless, I couldn't bare the thought of being caught in here without a fight.
"Don't even think about leaving," a masculine voice erupted amisdt the noise of the thunderstorms.
Stuttled, I jumped.
My heart thudded more and more.
I could feel the hairs of my skin standing.
Every shadow iluminating was as though images of a haunting crowd from Akwolle. And all they wanted was to tie me up and scold me to pulp. I could hear my heart thudding even amisdt the heavy rainfall.
So I placed my foot facing the direction of my previous entry and the other one debating on the way forward. Deep down I felt making one swift move would at least work.
I'd give this stranger a great distance between us since I knew every heart of this forest and save myself at least a few kilometers of a good run.
You should better try. My corrupt mind signalled even aware that it takes just one man to knock a woman down. In fear of my dear life.
Ama, theres no room for fear. I could hear Lue's whispers.
The more I debated, the more I could feel blood oozing out of the wound on my toe and throbbing more than the migraines I always encountered.
Then thud. Collapsing to the ground.
I woke up with a serious headache. Then images of the past scenes came crashing back. Trying to jolt myself off the sleeping position, winning. The throbbing pain knocked me down again.
Light illuminated from outside though the entry. And Lue's blanket covered my body.
All I could fathom, "for how long have I been sleeping?"
" Two days straight," he replied turning to face me.
