Saturday morning I received a reply from Lue.

"Hello Ama

I miss you too

Father and mother miss you though Father can't admit to it

He keeps saying if Ama was here, she'd cook food in time (I laughed)

Kaffo is really taking good care of them financially (that was alittle conny to me)

But for Frayer, when it comes to her, I be so scared to hurt her. I think I like her and I don't know what to do

I thought it best to let her go because I can't explain what am even feeling now, its torturing me......"

I told Lue to say something to Frayer other than leaving her in the tall grass without a hint of anything. It would make a lovestruck girl go insane.

Though I did not desire to be in between their love affair because I had mine to put pieces together as well.

Waking up at the right side of my bed, I ventured outside. It was my first day outside involving in farm work. The farm stretched out for many kilometers and it was pretty awesome doing something that I loved.

It was a maize plantation and people were so busy engrossed with harvesting.

Earlier today after bidding goodbye to Frayer for the day since she was going to be caught up in her studies, I decided to go get a bit dirty at the plantation.

"Hey you," someone called, probably someone inspecting work progress.

"Come join these ladies," he continued and I walked over.

"I haven't seen you around before, who are you?" he asked.

"I am new to the work, but am definitely meant to be here," I said ignoring my introduction.

I didnt want to be treated any different from the others.

Joining the ladies, they worked so hard and talked a lot too.

"Isa did you hear of the new bride to be?" one called the other lady, this got my attention.

"I heard she's really young," the one called Isa replied sneering. "I wonder what Kaffo was even thinking," and they all burst into laughter.

I knew it was me they talked of but I had no escape now other than working. No need to leave and creating suspension.

"Quiet, work!" the instructor yelled.

"Okay Fred," one imitated a sexy voice, oh my!

So this was Fred. He didnt seem to be the kind Frayer had described.

Creating a little distance between me and the team, I zoned out to their conversation.

Not interested in hearing my own life being referred to as mockery. Yet none of that was equally wrong.

"Girl am Isa and you," Isa tried to notice me.

"Isa!!" Fred called. "Work alittle more just for taday"

"Okay," she said shrugging her shoulders.

All we'd do was grab the maize combs at the tips then chizzle with a sharp blade. After it falls to the ground, you collect to them. It was amazing.

In that order, consecutively.

It was amazing.

How I missed this kind of work back home.

It felt like I'd accomplished something.

I envied that feeling. The desired peace of mind.

Shortly, I turned and saw someone I'd greatly feared seeing and coming across. None other than Kaffo Reinard walking alongside someone else, with close analysis, Caleb Reinard.

They were engrossed in deep conversation from the way I'd observed in an angle because Caleb seemed to be listening critically and nodding his head in acknowledgement while Kaffo waved his hand around.

I felt like entering into my skin.

My world became so small without anywhere to run to them and idea of hiding in the plantation was my only solution.

I dashed straight into the tall grass.

"You, young lady no, we don't work like that," Fred shouted.

Catching the attention of everyone and they all burst into laughter. Shameful me, walked out timidly while even the Reinards looked at me and Kaffo laughed except for Caleb who probably knew my pain.
