"Wait," he slightly shut the door and a few seconds later, the door was opened with Caleb now clad in a mismatched shirt.
But still it looked so good on him. I could trace his abbs just by looking at him.
Such a master piece.
"You can come in," he said moving aside and creating way for me.
I surveyed his room. It was like a full house of its own.
A well furnished small cottage.
I could see, he was a man of white because all his furniture was white. There were medals on a mini glass cupboard with a few portraits of him.
"Wow thats beautiful," I pointed at it.
"That was me when I was first awarded my first medal in highschool for the mathematics national competition," he replied moving his hand over his hair.
"Wow congratulations."
"Thank you."
I noticed his living room was spacious with everything neat. It was the best looking room I'd ever seen.
So rich and attractive.
"What can I get you a soda or?" he asked me.
"Nothing just water," I replied.
"Okay then. Feel at home," he said as I sat on the couch and still analyzing the place in bits.
He came with a glass of water from the fridge at the extreme end of the room.
Giving it to me, he sat opposite me.
"Can I seat next to you?" he asked shocking me as well because I almost spilled my water.
"What!"
"Its okay then, I'll seat here," he replied noticing my un ease but in actual sense I'd liked the idea of it.
I just didn't want to sound clingy by accepting him to.
Then silence fell betwen us.
"How have you been?" I asked.
"Fine fine," he replied.
Caleb was always good with conversation so what could be the problem now, was it the letter I wrote to him.
I wanted to also ask about his Father but I didn't want to make the environment sour.
"And you?" he asked showing more concern.
"Am great. Home was amazing but I had to come back because Frayer and Zed missed me."
"Zed?"
"Yes?" realizing the unease.
"Ama what's wrong with you, you write to me that you miss me then the next moment your talking of missing Zed,,,"
"Caleb I did miss you but it hurt when you didn't reply to my letter," I followed him to the window and now looking at his back as he stood facing outside.
"Then Zed," he didn't let this go.
"He is just a friend," I replied and he turned looking at me.
"Are you sure? Because I know of his intentions towards you."
I could feel the pain in his voice.
"Amandi I needed you but you just left me here alone with this pain inside me."
I walked closer to him.
"If only I'd known Caleb. I wouldn't have gone and left you alone here."
I meant his father's health.
I knew how close they were and I could feel the pain reflecting from his voice.
"This is so hard," he said and I embraced him in a tight hug.
He then broke down in tears.
"Ama am afraid, his dying. And am not ready to let go of him," he continued crying.
I needed him to let it all out. All the pain out.
