A/N The make-up from the argument
It'd been a month since stupid Trace Herondale had knocked up and asked Magnus 'Have you given him any pieces of you?'. Magnus then had a clue about why Alec did what he did, which meant that he wrote a journal of a sort about key events in his life, something he didn't think was important to other lovers, but apparently was to Alec. He didn't understand why that was yet.
However, with the writing part out of the way, he didn't know how to give it to Alec. He couldn't just knock up at the Institute. He'd been way too unkind to Alec, who didn't do the right thing, but also didn't deserve to be kicked out without a chance to explain. If he went, there was a high chance Jace or Isabelle may just about murder him.
He was contemplating the issue when he recieved a call. Dear Catarina. "Hello, darling."
"Magnus, we haven't got the time for hellos and darlings," she snapped, "A mission has gone wrong with the New York Shadowhunters. Many are injured and I was called to help, but I could do with some help. So if you would stop moping about Alec and get yourself down here, I'd appreciate it."
Magnus' first thought was has something happened to Alec. He inquired about this.
"Yes, Alec's injured," Cat said bluntly, "He's lost a lot of blood, but we've given him some blood and glucose and he's recovering. However, some people are more injured than your boyfriend. Such as Jace Herondale who has ichor poisoning."
"He's not my boyfriend," Magnus said.
And Catarina hung up. Sighing, Magnus knew he had to do his duties as High Warlock, and in all honesty, however much of an idiot Jace was, he was a good person. And someone Alec cared for. So he opened a Portal to the Institute to be greeted by Jace's girlfriend, Clary.
"Where's Jace?" he asked.
"Infirmary," Clary said, eyes tear-streaked, "Catarina's with him."
"I'll go see what I can do," Magnus said and went to the Infirmary, where five Shadowhunters were recieving treatment.
In the last bed was Jace, face pale with black lines running through them like veins. He reached the bed and immediately started murmuring the spell with Catarina, who was knelt down, saying the spell whilst pressing a compress to Jace's forehead.
"This isn't working," Magnus said, frustrated, "Get Alec."
"I'm sorry, Magnus, but how exactly is Alec required right now?"
"Virgin Shadowhunter energy," Magnus said, rolling his eyes.
"He's still a virgin?" Catarina asked with surprise and then shook her head, "What the hell?"
Magnus snorted and then explained, "They're parabatai. Jace can draw Alec's strength. It'll help get the poision out."
"I'll keep him stable, you go get Alec," Catarina suggested and Magnus nodded.
He remembered Alec's room from a previous time he'd been to visit and he knocked.
"Yes?" Alec's voice came and then the door opened and it was like a wave crashing into the shore. So many emotions, so much yearning, and so much want to hold Alec close again and apologise over and over again.
"J - Jace," Magnus cleared his throat.
"What's wrong with him?" Alec asked.
"He can do with you sharing his strength," Magnus explained. Alec nodded and both of them headed to the Infirmary.
"Alexander, I'm sorry," Magnus started.
"Don't," Alec breathed, "Not right now."
So Magnus shut up and once they got to the Infirmary, Alec's strength managed to work, and Jace was not in a critical state. With a nod, Alec went back up to his room to take in more glucose and blood whilst Magnus helped the other injured Shadowhunters.
