We got back to our floor in Centennial and my hand was still in Luke's. I let go and cautiously moved my arms around him. He was confused at first but soon I felt him envelop me in a hug and he sighed.

"Thank you" I said as we pulled away.

"Are you kidding? If it wasn't for you then I'd be getting dragged out of Pioneer by campus security. Thank you" I shook my head.

"You stood up for me and you know better than anyone that I don't take that shit lightly. So let's both feel grateful for one another" Luke nodded.

"The jersey makes a bit more sense now though, huh? You see why I need you in my life even as a friend" I nodded.

"I do. I'll wear it on Sunday, promise" He smiled and hugged me again.

"Thank god we were in a good place and you were there. I don't know if you could have calmed him down like that if you were on his side" I chuckled.

"You make it sound like I can only be friends with one of you, not both"

"It's kinda like that at the moment though Carter. We're insanely jealous of one another. It's unnecessary but it's there"

"What are you jealous of?"

"Do I really need to answer that?"

"Okay, fair point. But what does he have to be jealous of?"

"Well, there's the whole way I came against him at the start of the semester after he'd fucked you off. He never really forgave me for that. Then the fact that every time you're mad at him, you're all friendly with me"

"I don't think Fraser's the type to get possessive about friendship"

"I don't think he is either"

"Then what's your point?" Luke rolled his eyes, grabbed my face and looked directly into my eyes.

"He likes you Carter" I pulled away and shook my head.

"There's no way. He can't, not with the number of times I've called him horrible names and what we've done to each other."

"Look you know I don't want to bring it up ever again, so the fact that I am bringing it up should say something, but there was something about that kiss between you two on Friday night. It was passionate and I think he either already knew how he felt about you and the kiss just solidified it, or it made him decide to feel that way. It did something to him"

"I just don't see how someone like him even has the capacity to like someone else. He doesn't even like himself half the time." Luke shrugged.

"Stranger things have happened. And I'll stick to my word if you two decide to get together and not interfere"

"Stop it! We're not getting together. I don't know what he thinks, but I know what I think and trust me, I don't like him" Luke smiled and nodded.

"Good. That's all I needed to know. Can I kick your ass at NHL?" I rolled my eyes.

"So long as you don't bring up that, or the damn Halloween party, then I'm keen" He grinned and unlocked his room. There was something different about it which I noticed straight away.

"You got a sofa?" He nodded as he sat on it. It was a plain blue one and fit the room actually kind of nicely.

"Yeah, Coop started coming around more to play video games and it was awkward with both of us sitting on my bed so I looked around and got a cheap one from Facebook" I sat on the other seat and took the other controller he was offering.

"It's nice. Good thing it's small"

"It was a bitch to try and get in here. I think you must have been at the rink when we put it in, otherwise I know we would have had you in the hallway with all the yelling. Apparently, when he moves furniture, Tyler turns into Ross from friends" I looked at him and made him chuckle.
