I made my way to the medic bay in the rink and was immediately told to leave once I got in.
"Relax, she's mine. She can stay" Luke said, wincing in pain as they removed his pads and his shirt from him. The medic who had told me to get out then went into his office so I walked over to Luke.
"Are you okay?"
"I've been better. They think it's just a dislocated shoulder but if they can't set it back in place, then it could be a clavicle fracture and I'll have to go to the hospital"
"I'll come with you if you do"
"Pruitt, it's a Sunday night and you have class tomorrow. I'll be okay at the hospital by myself" I shook my head.
"Oh no, I'm not getting any sleep tonight until I know you're in your bed sleeping too"
"Sweet of you. God, they'd better fucking win after this" The medic reappeared and looked to me.
"We're going to attempt to put the shoulder back into the socket if you'd rather leave" He explained and I grabbed Luke's left hand in response.
"I'm fine, I've seen and heard worse" The medic nodded, grabbing Luke's arm.
Luke screamed out in pain as there was a large crunch sound before the medic let him go.
"That should do it. If you get a shirt on, I can get you fitted with a temporary sling and you'll have to visit the health center tomorrow to get a proper one.
"Can I shower first?"
"If you can do so carefully"
"I'll come to make sure you don't fall" I suggested before I could stop myself. Luke's face broke out into a grin.
"Oh will you now?"
"Shut up Bennett, I mean on the other side of the door. I'm not going to be looking at you, that's for sure." He chuckled and nodded, carefully climbing off the bed and making his way towards the locker room as I followed him. We had about twenty minutes (assuming they didn't go into overtime) before the rest of the team would be down here and I think Luke wanted to look a little less dishevelled. If he wanted to be here at all.
"Okay I'll turn the shower on for you"
"I can do that with one hand. I need you to help me get my skates and pads off" I nodded as he sat on the bench and I undid his skates and carefully pulled them from his feet. He opened his locker and I put them in.
"Where do the pads and uniform go?"
"There are some big tubs just around the corner they go into" I nodded and helped him get his pads and pants off, so he was standing there in just his underwear.
"Please don't tell me you need help with that" I muttered and he snickered.
"I don't, but I might need help getting dressed and that's honesty. I don't know how I'm going to do it" I sighed.
"I'll do it for you because you're my friend."
"Okay, there are towels through that door in the cupboard at the end. I'm going to get naked and climb in. Take a minimum of thirty seconds to get me a towel" I laughed and nodded, thankful he was taking my desire not to see him naked seriously.
I grabbed a towel and opened the door, eyes closed.
"Are you hidden?" I heard an echoed laugh.
"Yes, I'm in the shower and the door is closed."
"Locked?" I asked as I made my way to the shower door.
"No, I'm not that stupid. If I fall in here, the last thing I want is to drown. I'd much rather you see me naked."
