CARTER
I didn't risk waiting for the elevator, I knew Luke would just grab me and pull me back. I only had my phone on me, as my bag with all my study things was still in his room seeing as I hadn't actually gone back to mine after dinner. Which meant he had my keys, which meant my room also wasn't an option right now.
I sighed as I reached the ground floor of Centennial, heading towards Pioneer. It was risky, as Fraser could come at any moment. But I needed to talk to Lexi.
I knocked on her door multiple times before groaning and pulling out my phone, realising she wasn't in there.
"Hey Carter, are you okay?"
"Where are you?"
"Tate's room. Bunker's fucked off for the night so we're watching a movie"
"I'm coming" I hung up the phone and ran back to Centennial, up the stairs to avoid running into someone. I knocked on Tate and Bunker's door and it soon opened.
"Oh my god, what happened?" Lexi asked, taking in the look on my face.
"I might be in a bit of trouble"
"Why?"
"I punched him" Her eyes went wide, as did Tate's
"You punched Fraser?" I nodded.
"What the actual hell? Why?"
I took a deep breath.
"He came to my room looking for me. He accused me of sucking Luke's dick. He called me Luke's girlfriend just to piss him off then he tried to shove me out of the way to knock Luke out. I pushed him back and punched him."
"What was Bennett doing?" Tate asked.
"Standing behind me, rolling up his sleeves and trying to beat me to it. I knew if they touched each other, hockey was over for one or both of them. So I did it. I brought my hand back and punched that son of a bitch"
"And then what happened?"
"I left. Straight away. I wasn't about to get pulled back into that by Bennett, or else I'd have punched him too. Then you guys would have been fucked for the game Sunday and I would have been fucked for friends on the team after."
"I think Bennett might have forgiven you. How was Fraser?"
"I saw the blood start and I bolted before either of them could say or do anything"
"You made him bleed?"
"I punched him fucking hard"
"I need to talk to Cooper" Tate said, getting ready to walk out.
"I'll go with you."
"I don't think you should Carter" I looked up at him, eyes fierce with confusion.
"Why not?"
"You just punched one of his players. He's going to be fucking mad"
"Let him be mad. He deserves an explanation"
"No, okay."
"Come on Tate, he's going to be mad regardless. Don't you think he'd be best to hear it from me rather than you? Or Fraser?"
"You think he's going to be less mad hearing it from some girl we're friends with than one of his own teammates?" I stopped trying to fight him and just chuckled, shaking my head.
"Some girl, huh?"
"Pruitt, I didn't mean it like that"
"My name's Carter" And with that, I walked away. I didn't run anymore, I just walked. I had no idea where I was going or where I could go without anything but my phone, but I was going.
