LUKE
Finally, it was the 23rd of December, and I was flying back to Boston for the first time since the summer. This time around, I was taking Bunker with me for the three-week break. Given the way things went down with him and his sister not that long ago, I'm not surprised he wasn't going home. Given the way things went down with me and his sister, I was a little shocked he was opting to come to my place.
But we'd made our peace and now we were spending three weeks together. Bunk was a lot like my brothers so it'd just be like having another brother home for the holidays. It might drive my parents nuts, but I'm sure they would have told me if they minded. Especially when I explained to my mom what had happened between Bunker and his sister this semester, she was more than willing to house him and he was more than willing to buy his own ticket to Boston.
I finished zipping my suitcase and walked across the hall to knock on Carter's door, seeing as she was coming with us to the airport.
"Come in" Her voice called from the other side, me opening the door to find her standing in her room, organizing her closet.
"What are you doing?" She looked at me.
"Oh! I finished packing so I figured I'd do a little swapping out of my fall and winter clothes, seeing as it's going to get colder here. I'm also getting down some competition dresses because I want to start skating competitively again next year" I took myself to her chair under her bed in her reading nook and sat.
"You'll have to let me know and I can come and watch you" She laughed.
"Like fucking hell you can."
"Aww come on Pruitt, you've seen me play. I should get to see you skate"
"Maybe. Don't piss me off anymore and I'll think about it, 'kay?"
"Deal"
"What time did you tell Bunker to get here?"
"No later than 12. I know you want to be at the airport by 1, so he should be here at 12:15 if he's as late as I think he'll be" She shook her head.
"What time is it now?" I checked my watch.
"11:56"
"We can always go downstairs and bully him into being ready. I'm almost done" I grinned.
"I like the way you think Pruitt, let's go"
Carter finished up and we both exited her room, her locking her door and me double checking mine was locked, before heading downstairs to Tate and Bunker's room. The door was wide open, so we both walked in to find Bunker standing over his open suitcase, and Tate laying on his bed.
"Oh my god, you're actually almost packed" I joked as Bunker flipped me off.
"Yes, I just need to fit my toiletries and shit in, plus extra elastics for my hair and I think I'm good to go"
"I'll order the uber now, it should hopefully be here by the time Bunker's ready" Carter said, pulling out her phone.
"You don't feel weird about not going home for Christmas of all holidays?" I asked Bunk who chuckled.
"Of course I feel weird, Bennett. I'm not going to hang out with my mom on Christmas. But her other child has ruined things for me too much, so it is what it is I guess" I smiled.
"Well, you'll feel right at home at my place. My older brothers will talk hockey with anyone" Bunker grinned.
"Thanks Bennett, I'm glad McGill stopped me from knocking you out"
