"Bye Conny!" The children waved to the crying six-year-old as mama lead her out of the house to the gate. 

Everybody would miss Conny. She wasn't the brightest but she sure knew how to bring a smile on everyone's faces. 

"Connyyyy, come back!" Don stretched the 'y' in 'Conny' as he wept.

Gilda patted his back "Cheer up, Don. Conny will st?ill have a kind and caring family that will make sure she's happy! Plus, she promised she'll send us letters too!" The olive-haired girl reassured her friend.

"Too bad she can't keep that promise now." A (e/c) eyed girl muttered so nobody could hear what she had just said.

Emma looked at the younger children. "How about you all go to sleep now? It's getting late." She turned towards the other five oldest kids. "Can some of you help me clean up the room?" 

The five of them nodded and everyone except Y/N and Ray went to the storage room to get brooks.

Y/N softly tapped her ravenette friend's shoulder. "You have the bunny, right?"

Ray smirked at her. "Of course." He slyly placed the plushie on a nearby table and the duo ran out of the room to wait for someone to notice the bait.

Not even a few minutes later, they heard a deafening screech.

"CONNY?!" Emma yelled in shock.

"What happened?" Asked Norman.

"Conny left little bunny!" The tangerine exclaimed.

YRay and Y/N walked in. "You two should go give it back to Conny! She's probably realised she forgot it and started to cry again!" Y/N persuaded.

"There's still time, I don't think Conny left yet." Ray continued.

Norman and Emma realised their friends were right. They grabbed little bunny and headed towards the gate.

"Step one and two, done." Ray high-fived his friend. "How about we go to the library for now?" 

Y/N simply nodded and the ravenette took her hand and they walked to the library. 

When the two arrived at the library, Ray grabbed a book and sat down on the floor. Y/N sat next to him. She didn't look so well.

Ray noticed this. "What's bothering you?" He asked.

"Nothing." The (h/c) haired girl lied.

"Y/N, you've been looking gloomy all day." Ray replied. "Is it about Conny's shipment?"

The girl looked away and nodded. "We couldn't do anything to save anyone. They didn't deserve to die." 

"Come here." The ravenette grabbed her hands and stood up. He then embraced Y/N who hugged him back immediately.

"Don't worry, no one's going to die after this. We don't have to send them off anymore." He patted the (h/c)ette's back as she silently sobbed. "We're closer to surviving this place now, and no matter how terrible the process will be, I'll be here for you."

"I'll be here for you too" Y/N sniffled.

"You seem tired, how about I tuck you into bed? I'll talk to Emma and Norman by myself" Ray offered.

"Sure." She gave him a small smile.

Ray carried his friend to her room and tucked her into bed. He realised she had fallen asleep on the way there. 

The ravenette gave her a peck on the forehead. "Goodnight, Y/N." He smiled as he left the room.
